Satirically placed “For Rent” signs mock insane San Francisco housing prices [5 pics]

Apr 1, 2014 By Abraham 0

Rental prices in San Francisco are ludicrous. It’s gotten bad enough that it is increasingly common for people to rent out their couch or closet space, allowing them to subsidize their monthly rent payment and, in turn, allowing their new co-renter to find a slightly cheaper place to sleep.

In his latest photo essay, photographer Scot Hampton made fun of this predicament by placing For Rent signs on absolutely unlivable public spaces. He even went so far as to actually put an ad on Craigslist, offering a dumpster as a “waterfront condo.” It was not flagged for removal.

Hampton completes the joke with funny captions describing the amenities at these “apartments.” Here is a sampling. Visit his site for the full experience
