If there's one thing we know about Selena Gomez's mom, it's that she doesn't appear to be afraid to speak her mind... and honestly, that might be an understatement. Her most recent Selena-related rant happened on Instagram and folks, it's a real doozy.
Selena Gomez has always had a lot on her plate. She's piled on even more recently, and her mom, Mandy Teefey, seems to have been involved at least in part every step of the way.
Gomez has been busier than ever between executive producing 13 Reasons Why and releasing new music. She also underwent a kidney transplant over the summer.
And, of course, she got back together with ex Justin Bieber.
The Jelena reunion did not go very smoothly for Gomez’s mom (although Bieber’s mom is apparently a big fan of the couple).
TMZ reported that Teefey was checked into a hospital after having a heated conversation with Gomez about Bieber.
Well, Justin, step aside, 'cause there's a new controversy surrounding Gomez now.
Gomez will be appearing in Woody Allen’s next film, A Rainy Day in New York.
People have a lot of problems with this.
As you're probably already aware, Allen's daughter, Dylan Farrow, has accused him of molesting her when she was a child.
Obviously, there’s a pretty huge disconnect between the fact that Gomez was the executive producer for 13 Reasons Why — a show that tries to reveal the harms of sexual abuse — and is also involved in a film written and directed by an alleged child molester.
Oh, and the movie is reportedly about a 44-year-old man who has a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl.
Because that’s the kind of movie Woody Allen thought would be a good idea to make.
Gomez's fans have been clamoring for her to address the apparent hypocrisy. They've even started asking Teefey for a statement from Gomez.
This particular comment (on a post mourning the death of Cranberries lead singer Delores O-Riordan) must have caught Teefey’s eye because, for whatever reason, she replied to it.
Oh holy cow, she did not hold back…
