hen it comes to wedding attire, plenty of women fret over whether they can get away with wearing the same thing to multiple nuptials. The good news is you probably can, but as these women learned, the real worry isn't wearing the same dress to multiple weddings — it's wearing the same dress as multiple other guests, to the same wedding. This is what happened recently at an Australian wedding, to the internet's delight.
Debbie Speranza, a guest at the wedding of Julia Mammone, said the hilarious situation was a slow build.
As she told 7 News Sydney, “One by one as the guests arrived we started going ‘oh, there’s one, there’s another one… we have to get a photo with the bride, this is hysterical.'”
Debbie posted that photo to the Facebook page of the dress maker.
It has since gone viral, catapulting the coordinated group to internet fame. As they told Australia’s “Today” show, they’ve had to start turning down interviews.
Luckily all the women found the incident hilarious.
As the bride put it, “I’m lucky to be surrounded by women with such a great sense of humor.” And truly, the mishap has generated far more attention for the ladies than simply looking good in a unique dress ever would.
Plenty of people were curious about the popular item.
Noting that it must be one heck of a dress to have so many women choosing. Which isn’t that wild a conclusion considering the dress isn’t exactly cheap. It retails at Forever New for $159.99.
That's not to say it isn't worth every penny.
The dress’s description does indeed promise to help you make an “entrance-worthy appearance.” And you can’t argue with the six pretty big entrances that got made in it at this particular event. But of course, as with any big news story, the Twitterverse had a lot to say.
