ver since His Royal Highness Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, and His Royal Highness, Prince Harry of Wales were spotted on a Star Wars set last year, we've all been wondering: will these royal brothers be going to the dark side?
Frustratingly, there's been nothing but radio silence from Lucas Film on the matter. That is, until now.
About a year ago, pictures surfaced of the royal brothers poking around the Star Wars set.
Prince William has said he is a “total geek” about Star Wars, like the rest of us plebeians. We don’t blame him for taking advantage of his royal status to get some one-on-one time with BB-8, but will we see him on screen alongside this heroic bot?
We can already tell that Harry has an affinity for Chewbacca.
I mean, come on. It’s like they were meant to share this hug.
For the past year, Lucas Film has been tight-lipped about what the British brothers were up to.
Finally, after months of waiting with bated breath, a break in the case has come to light. John Boyega, the lovable Star Wars actor who played Finn in Rogue One, said he's tired of keeping quiet.
“I’ve had enough with those Prince William secrets…” said Boyega, “They came on set, man. They were there, man. Tom Hardy was there too, man. I said it.”
Wait, what! Tom Hardy and Prince William and Prince Henry? Why does he make it sound so casual?
That's a lot of star power.
It’s been rumored that the brothers will play Stormtroopers in the next installment of the Star Wars saga, but they likely won’t ever show their faces. In order to fly under the radar, they will keep their helmets on.
Watch the royal brothers fight with lightsabers and get to know the rest of the Star Wars cast.
Princes Harry and William geeked out on set with actors and creators of Rogue One. They’re not the only celebrities to be avid fans of the the saga.
