Amandeep says: Augustus Gloop looks exactly as I expected him too. Aaron says: This is interesting, but the something bothers me. This was taken from the Rats Off blog, who cited Newsweek, where they got it, and the original source, FilmDrunk, who in turn got the images from NBC. This is like posting “my cousin’s friend’s uncle has a neighbor who told me…” Why is this acceptable in the world of blogging? Why not credit original sources? You can still mention tertiary sources, but some credit to the original makes sense. I know bloggers do this for click traffic, but it has always bothered me. chip says: It says TODAY and NBC right on each picture! Dee Dee says: It says via Rats off. He did it correctly. Blurp says: So… They all grew into pedos? Jadon says: Pedos? So normal people look like pedos to you? ‘Cause they look like average people to me. In fact, they look like random people i’ve seen, beside the guy who played Augustus. I’ve never seen a hat like that in person. Nick says: So Augustus Gloop turned into Kim Dotcom Jadon says: So the guy who played Augustus really was German? Even so, if he is German, why does he dress like that??!! Is he trying to say “Yep, i’m German, look at me!”? Chris says: I’m sure the man playing Augustus did it because he has a sense of humor… or is hardcore German. Either way nice hat! Eve says: Perhaps the man who played Gloop as a boy was indeed showing he still has a sense of humor. Maybe it was Octoberfest, who knows.I do know the movie was filmed in Germany. Did you know that the boy that played Charlie was given the great amount of heh, 150.00 for expenses, meals, hotel rooms etc. in NY during wardrobe fittings? Even in 1970 I keep thinking that 150.00 was a pittance for spending money/expenses.If you really want to have some fun buy the collectible 40th year anniversary box set. Comes with some nifty things and both blueray and DVD presentations. There is also a corespondance package where you get to see Mr. Wilders letter in his own hand (copied of course) and other neat factoids including letting cast members know they got the part and how pleased they were that the actors had accepted thier roles for the film.If that doesn’t get you, hows about a Golden ticket, a Wonka pencil box with 4 pencils that smell of: Banana, Snozeberry, Blueberry, and uhh hair cream. You also get a wonka bar eraser that yes, smells of chocolate and the big thing (which I haven’t opened yet) the book “The Making Of Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory”.I suggest you read the original story which I think had a lot to do with some hippy drugs. Acid and all that. Weird. Still a fun read.
