The first trailer for the upcoming movie adaptation of “Life of Pi”

Jul 25, 2012 By Abraham

Here’s the first preview for the film based on Yann Martel’s “Life of Pi”

From the video description

Director Ang Lee (Brokeback Mountain, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) creates a groundbreaking movie event about a young man who survives a tragic disaster at sea and is hurtled into an epic journey of adventure and discovery. While marooned on a lifeboat, he forms an amazing and unexpected connection with the ship’s only other survivor — a fearsome Bengal tiger.

Want. To. See. The only problem I have is the fact that even though the CGI is AMAZING, I can still tell when they used a real tiger and a CGI one. But I don’t mind because A. The actor could get his head bitten off and B. I and a lot of people(but probably mostly animal activists and PETA) would have some problems with a tiger being a little over worked in the movie, especially if used in the stunts, oh, and C. (i haven’t seen the movie yet, so i could be wrong) if they used a animatronic, it might be too obvious, though animatronics are not like they were in the 80’s and 90’s, they’re really realistic now, especially the stuff the Jim Henson Creature Shop makes.

Have you seen Rise of the Planet of the Apes or even a trailer for that? CGI has come a long long way. You may not even be able to tell.

You could try your local library. I just put a hold on a copy at the library I use. There were only two holds (so far… since the preview came out they’ll probably stack up!)

Oh, and I already read it. It’s fabulous. Just gotta brush up :)
