It didn't take long after the article was published for Twitter users to start picking it apart.
There does seem to be, on some level, this inverse correlation between age and beauty in our society.
In fact, that correlation is probably part of what made the entire concept of Sofia baring it all at 45 so interesting to Women's Health in the first place.
It was out of the ordinary that a 45-year-old woman would feel confident enough about her body to showcase it naked on a magazine in front of the entire world.
And that’s the thing about all this that doesn’t feel quite right.
In her interview, Sofia said, "Here's a woman, 45, being able to show her body. It's not like before, when it was just young girls."
Women in entertainment have certainly fought tirelessly to prove that older actresses should be on screen.
So yes, the fact that Sofia is 45 years old and choosing to claim her nudity in a public space feels awesome in that regard.
But people like Sofia — actresses in their 40s who still look like they’re in their 20s — don’t really feel like the people who’ve had all that much trouble staying in the spotlight.
Sofia is an anomaly. Those body-positive advocates are fighting for the majority.
The 45-year-olds who actually look 45.
And that’s where some people are divided.
