If you're lucky enough to have paid time off from your job, then you know how tricky it can be to decide when to use it. It's always a delicate balance of not wanting to waste it but also saving enough for the times you really need it. There's one company in the U.K. that's making the decision of when to take time off from work a lot easier. Easier for women, at least...
There are plenty of totally valid reasons for taking time off of work.
Maybe you have a doctor or dentist appointment.
Or a DMV appointment! Those people do not reschedule.
Your car could be out of commission, meaning that you are too.
On the bright side: you get day off from work because of it?
On the other hand… you can’t go anywhere because your car is busted.
You might also be sick.
And being sick totally sucks.
There’s nothing worse than trying to decide whether you’re sick enough to call in or just healthy enough that you could probably make it through the work day and save your PTO.
Of course, you inevitably choose incorrectly and end up feeling miserable.
Not only do you have to spend your day working, but you’re also feeling rotten. Plus, you’ve probably compromised your immune system enough to be sick the next day, too. Maybe even for (gasp!) the precious weekend.
And sometimes, you're "sick."
Don’t pretend you haven’t called in on a day you were feeling fine.
Now, there’s a company in the U.K. that’s making an addition to the list of Reasons to Stay Home From Work.
And it might surprise you…
