f you're the parent of young children, you know the importance of date night. Every once in awhile, you just need a night away from the little loves of your life. Just one night where you don't end up with oatmeal in your hair or Cheerios in your bra.
But if you're going to leave the house, you need a babysitter.
New parents Mark and Roxanne Hoyle had their own version of date night without leaving their property. But it was way more exciting than you might be thinking.
Before their son was born, Mark and Roxanne Hoyle were a pretty typical couple.
But in preparation for the baby’s arrival, Mark created the LadBaby blog to document his journey from lad to dad.
“I started blogging because I found out my wife was pregnant and I didn’t have a clue about kids, how to raise kids, even how to hold a kid.” Mark said. “She said I should read lots of books but nothing I found was talking on a normal dad level.”
The Hoyles also started creating hilarious video content that quickly took them to viral status. (You may have seen the video of Mark bringing home a toolbox instead of a lunchbox — it has over 7 million views).
The Hoyles’ next viral hit came in July of this year when Mark asked whether Roxanne would like to have a date night.
The couple was just sitting in their living room one evening when the plan was hatched.
Mark told Roxanne that tomorrow night, they would have a date.
He told her to get her hair and makeup done, so you know it was going to be a very fancy evening.
The next night, Roxanne returned home, ready for the date.
She looked absolutely lovely with her hair and makeup done.
It was time to head out! …Right?
Naturally, Roxanne asked where the babysitter was.
This is when things started to get suspicious.
“Why would Sarah be here?” Mark asked.
Uh-oh. Things seemed to be going in the wrong direction.
Roxanne looked slightly crushed by the apparent change of plans.
When you have a young child, no babysitter means no date.
But wait! Mark insisted date night was still happening.
What could that mean?
