Malkia was the first cat rescued by Malkia Park, which was also named after her.
This still from the now viral video depicts Michaela Zimanova, who cared for the lions since they were cubs, visiting them after some time apart.
The pair excitedly run up to the gate as soon as they spot her.
In a shocking twist, the pair jump up on the fence and greet her with a great big lion-sized hug.
On Malkia Park’s Instagram page, the owner of the big cat rescue says that not everyone receives this kind of welcome.
"Only 3 [people] are this close to these lions!" said the park owner.
“This kinda hug is not happening every day, only when they are in a good mood. We never force them to do anything.”
