Why you’re both sad

April 13, 2010 | By Abraham | 6 comments

He can’t be happy
when there is so much suffering in the world
She can’t be happy
if he is unhappy

She wants to be happy
He does not feel entitled to be happy

She wants him to be happy
and he wants her to be happy

He feels guilty if he is happy
and guilty if she is not happy

She wants both to be happy

He wants her to be happy

So they are both unhappy

Thanks for posting this, I linked to it on my most private and adolescent-y blog. This sums up my life right now. And there never was even an offical “we two”.

Lol, I feel that was written to my hubby and I sometimes! We all have those moments! One of my most used lines in an argument is “I just want you to be happy..” Thanks for posting!
