Hilarious Things You Notice When You Watch ‘Friends’ for the First Time

Can you ever remember a time where you didn’t love and cherish Friends? It feels like an alternate universe. Even if you aren’t a huge fan of the sitcom yourself, you can’t deny the pop cultural impact it had and still has. The most wishy-washy fan knows what, “WE WERE ON A BREAK!” means, and the minute Thanksgiving rolls around you know you’re sending the gif of Monica with a turkey on her head.

Recently, Netflix added the television show to the streaming service in the UK. And, well…they have some thoughts. And reactions. And honestly, it’s quite hilarious. Enjoy all of these things you can only notice when you watch Friends for the first time.

Hey, the ’90s were a weird time for everyone. But yeah… the shoe game just isn’t strong! Their outfits, however, will stand the test of time.

This is truth and fact and everyone would be better for it when they realize this. Sure, Jennifer Aniston can be considered the “star” of Friends. But Monica Geller is, as we have already stated, EVERYTHING.

Like… where are the bras? Do they exist? What temperature did they keep it on set? These are answers we may never know.

Sure, when you’re asked what was the show about in general, “nipples” isn’t usually the first thing that comes to mind. But… yeah, okay, we can see how someone watching it for the first time would interpret it that way.

And depending on how you feel about the characters, quite often they can be totally accurate. It’s also important to point that it’s insane everyone is annoyed with Monica for wanting to keep a tidy home! The girl is just trying to live her best life! Keep reading for more hilarious reactions…

Which is fair. He’s a lot. Quite often there seems to be two camps – the camp of Ross Is The Best, and the camp of Ross Is The Worst. There’s simply no middle ground!

Turnip sounds a bit harsh, but true. Who wants to be called a turnip?

Just looking at this photo of this guy covering his face in humiliation for Ross makes us feel embarrassed. What a horrible, terrible, wonderful moment in television history.

Side-note…at one point they’re supposed to be 26 on this. If that doesn’t’ make you feel old, we’re not sure what will.

You kind of realize pretty quickly how bad Phoebe has it! She seriously went through trauma, and nobody is trying to comfort her. Some “friends” they are. We love you, Pheebs!
