When The Addams Family hit theaters back in the early ’90s, it was a VERY big deal. Remakes weren’t as common as they are today, so a whole new generation was going to get in on the fun of the creepy fictional family.

She was a big name before the film and remains a big name after. Most recently, she can be seen on Amazon’s Transparent.

Workman retired from Hollywood life in the early 2000’s, but it’s clear from the above photos that he still very much looks the part!

This was Ricci’s big break, and she since made the transition from child actor to grown-up star seamlessly. She’s made dozens of TV and movie appearances and starring roles since Addams Family.

He’s been a Hollywood icon since long before Addams Family, but he managed to capture the creepy charm of Fester perfectly. But he’ll still always be known as Doc Brown from Back to the Future.

The horny (and slightly deranged) character was obsessed with Uncle Fester. In real life, she was played by Joan Cusack, who’s recently starred as a recurring character on Showtime’s Shameless playing an equally weird bird.

The creepy matriarch was played by Judith Malina, who sadly passed recently in 2015.

Grandmama (in Addams Family Values)

Nope, you weren’t crazy. There were two Grandmamas, with the latter being played by Carol Kane. Kane’s a Hollywood staple and most recently has starred in The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt as Kimmy’s crazy landlord.

Yup, the mustachioed baby was not only played by twins, but twin girls. As you can see, they’ve shed the mustache and left Hollywood, but not before this awesome role made their resumes.

She had a small part in the original, but stole the scene enough that she was a bigger part of Values. We haven’t heard much of Mercedes any more, but she did star in fan fave Buffy the Vampire Slayer in a recurring role.

It may not have been a huge role back then, but David Krumholtz has enjoyed a huge career since in both TV and film, including a starring role in the CBS drama Numbers.

He was the patriarch of the family, but, sadly, there was no swan song for Gomez, who passed away in 1994 with a lauded career and this iconic role to his name.
