Muskogee police officers responded to a call of multiple people shot in a house on Indiana Street in Oklahoma City, roughly forty-five-miles southeast of Tulsa, at around 1:30 am...
According to Muskogee investigator, Lynn Hamlin, as per The Independent.
The suspect attempted to flee the scene...
But, after a short pursuit on foot, he was apprehended and taken into custody.
Inside the house, the responding officers found 1 man and 4 children dead...
While an injured infant was helicoptered alongside a woman to a hospital in Tulsa.
However, the child later passed away as a result of the injuries sustained during the shooting.
The woman continues to be treated for life-threatening injuries.
The police have since confirmed that all those who were shot were from the same family.
Speaking to CBS 6 this morning, Ms. Hamlin confirmed that the suspect in custody is the only lead they are pursuing at this time.
Ms. Hamlin said that the department does not believe that the shooting was a "random" attack...
But did not yet know the motive for the incident.
Neither the names of the victims or the suspect have been released.
Police are still investigating the incident.
