Because, let’s face it, who wants to be doing homework after an entire day at school?

When school is out for the day, all kids want to do is go home and play.

The last thing they want to be thinking about is homework.

But despite homework being ever so boring

It has been proven to be vital in a child’s education.

Completing homework is beneficial for a student’s sense of responsibility, time management, organization and learning how to work alone.

And, most importantly, homework allows teachers to see how their students are performing outside of the classroom.

Although not the nicest thing to do, homework is not designed to be super difficult, instead it is designed to help children cement what they have learnt over previous days…

But, that’s not alway the case…

If there’s one thing that everyone can agree on, it’s that math is most certainly not for the faint-hearted.

But for some, math has always been a lovely walk in the park, and trust us on this, these people are incredibly smart.

People worldwide choose to study mathematics further when leaving school and pursue degrees and further qualifications such as PhDs in the subject.

It hurts our heads to just think about it!

Even the smartest of folk sometimes struggle with math.

And a recent equation has truly taken the internet by storm as nobody can seem to work it out.

One child’s homework has gone viral after it left the internet stumped when it was posted online.

Here is the infamous equation that people just cannot get their heads around, and it isn’t as scary as one would imagine.

Well, apparently not as no one can decide on a conclusive answer…

Turns out, math really isn’t that simple…

The question shared reads:

“Klein read 30 pages of a book on Monday and one eighth of the book on Tuesday,”

“He completed the remaining quarter of the book on Wednesday.

“How many pages are there in the book?”

Easy enough, right?

Wrong!

The internet has gone crazy over figuring out the problem.

And some people have gone to some pretty tricky lengths to prove that their answer is right.

What do you think the answer is?

These people are taking this very seriously…

If you manage to even get an answer …

We’d say that makes you pretty smart!

One person joked: “And now we can all see why “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” worked as a game show.”

“Today I learned I would fail fifth grade math,” another laughed.

“I always think to my self; ‘Ugh. People should really be tested with basic skills before they’re allowed to go out into society.”

“And then I see this and realize I shouldn’t go out into society LOL!” wrote another.

However, others thought the whole thing was easy!

“Not to be rude, but what is interesting about this,” one said.

Another added: “It looks just like any other math problem that I’ve done in 5th grade.”

However, there is one simple way to figure it out.

It relies upon the assumption that the reading starts on a Monday.

You can then divide these 30 pages by five to see how much one eighth is worth.

Which is six.

You can then just do the simple multiplication of eight times six, with the answer being 48, and the equation is solved.
