Over the weekend news emerged that Naomi Judd had died.
Naomi Judd, one half of Grammy-winning country music duo The Judds, unexpectedly passed away on April 30.
Her death was announced by her daughters.
In a statement, they wrote:
“Today we sisters experienced a tragedy. We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness.”
“We are shattered.”
“We are navigating profound grief and know that as we loved her, she was loved by her public. We are in unknown territory.”

The Judds scored twenty top-10 hits with fifteen of them taking the number one spot.
In the aftermath of her sudden death The Judds were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Wynonna Judd accepted the honour just one day after her mother’s death.
Speaking to the 800 people gathered in Nashville’s CMA Theater for the Country Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Wynonna said:
“I’m gonna make this fast because my heart’s broken — and I feel so blessed. I mean, it’s a very strange dynamic to be this broken and this blessed.”
Now, Naomi Judd’s cause of death has been reported by numerous outlets.
It has been reported that Naomi died by suicide, according to the Daily Mail.
Her husband of 32 years Larry Strickland broke his silence and referred to the ‘heartbreaking time’ they are going through.
Judd’s daughter Ashley and Wynonna revealed that their mother had succumbed to the ‘disease of mental illness.’
