American singer Dolly Parton has generously donated $1 million to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The actress has previously donated to the medical centre in April 2020…
Parton took no time to donate to the centre during the peak of the pandemic – a keen advocate, she helped fund research for the COVID-19 vaccine.
With Dolly’s help further research can be carried out…
Dr. Jeff Balser, Dean of the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, told Fox News: “Dolly’s previous support to infectious disease research, and also our pediatric cancer program, has already saved countless lives.”
But that’s not all, the songwriter turned actress’ funds will further help research understand how bacteria and viruses cause disease…
“No child should have to suffer,” Dolly told reporters in a statement. Adding; “I’m willing to do my part to try and keep as many of them as I can as healthy and safe as possible.”
The actress is keen to help children, but now has an eye to help the pediatric infectious disease research…
The fund will assist research teams on how to prevent resistance to antibiotics, while also lending a hand in diagnosing and treating infections in children with cancer and more.
According to reports, Parton’s niece, Hannah Dennison, was successfully treated for leukemia as a child with the help of Vanderbilt Pediatric Cancer Program at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital.
