After basking in the success of his tracks on SoundCloud, Lil Pump earned recognition in the South Florida underground rap scene.
In a style known as “SoundCloud rap”.
From then onwards, Lil Pump headlined the No Jumper tour in 2016.
He also performed at the Rolling Loud Festival.
The American rapper, whose real name is Gazzy García, then became even more popular with his hit track ‘Gucci Gang’.
Which has over one billion views on YouTube.
But that’s not all…
The Hip Hop rap star also featured alongside the likes of Kanye West and Diplo.
Even so, the rapper is known for his tattoos…
And he recently spoke about them too…
In an interview with Inked magazine, Lil Pump told the outlet that he got a Powerpuff Girls tattoo to celebrate his month-long run of daily threesomes.
“I got that Powerpuff Girls tattoo around when I dropped Harverd Dropout.
“For that whole month, I was having threesomes, like, every single day. So that was the reason I got the Powerpuff Girls on my neck. It was an amazing month,” he said.
But that’s not all…
The rapper also said that his ‘Jah’ tattoo was in honor of late rapper XXXTentacion.
“Yeah. Jah was a very special person, man. He was gone too soon.
“I remember one time I was in L.A. and this was probably the second time I was in L.A. and I was, like, 17, and I didn’t have a spot to stay in, and then X literally hit me up and was like, ‘Yo, you can stay at my hotel,'” he said.
“After that I was like, that’s a very genuine person. It was like, that’s my brother,” he added.
But it’s his recent outing that’s left the star baffled but some people aren’t surprised…
“So basically the same as the US,” one user wrote.
While another said: “I would’ve recognized him but kept walkin.”
“Plot twist this was LA,” a third joked.
“They probably thought it was Jack Sparrow,” another added.
Well, what exactly happened for people to react in this way?
It all started when the rapper posted a video of him in Japan in which he shrugs his shoulders and looks completely perplexed while standing in the middle of a hectic road.
But it’s the follow-up video that has gained all the attention, as he was spotted taking selfies with a few Japanese fans. But the internet trolls didn’t want to stop there…
“Yeah his team probably paid them to pretend,” wrote one person.
“I can literally go to Japan, pay five people to want my autograph and Japanese people will come to me thinking I’m an American celebrity,” said another.
“When you’re desperate for fans,” said a third person.
“They just take pics with Americans tho lol ain’t no way they knew who he was,” added another.
