Soon, fans will be able to watch Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour over and over again, all from the comfort of their own home.
Whether it’s on the road or on the charts, Taylor Swift is no stranger to breaking records. After taking The Eras Tour across the world, her concert film premiered in theaters on Oct. 13.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Swifties rushed to theaters to see Taylor’s tour on the big screen. Within the first two weeks of its release, it broke records for first-day ticket sales and grossed more than $200 million at the global box office.
Swift reflected on the success of the film on Instagram, thanking her fans for making this film such an event.
“What a truly mind blowing thing you’ve turned The Eras Tour Concert Film into,” she wrote.
She continued, “I’ve been watching videos of you guys in the theaters dancing and prancing and recreating choreography, creating inside jokes, casting spells, getting engaged, and just generally creating the exact type of joyful chaos we’re known for .”
Now, it has been revealed that fans will soon be able to watch the film all over again, right from the comfort of their couch.
Taylor Swift is bringing her record-breaking tour film to households across the United States and Canada — and, soon, it will be worldwide. She announced the news to her fans on Monday.
In a little over two weeks, The Eras Tour film will be available to stream. The fun begins on the singer’s birthday, Dec. 13.
“Well, so, basically I have a birthday coming up and I was thinking a fun way to celebrate the year we’ve had together would be to make The Eras Tour Concert Film available for you to watch at home!” she wrote on Instagram, posting a clip of her performing “Wildest Dreams” from 1989 (Taylor’s Version) onstage in the film.
As explained by the singer, the version available to rent on demand will also include some of the setlist that was cut when the film hit theaters worldwide beginning in October.
While the Eras Tour’s actual runtime for the live show is over 3 hours and 15 minutes, the concert movie ran just 2 hours and 45 minutes. That means that several fan-favorites didn’t make the final cut.
Luckily for those fans who wanted to see certain cut tracks, for the digital release, Swift is including some of them.
“Very happy to be able to tell you that the extended version of the film including ‘Wildest Dreams,’ ‘The Archer’ and ‘Long Live’ will be available to rent on demand in the US, Canada & additional countries to be announced soon starting on … you guessed it, December 13 ,” she continued in her caption.
This announcement from the superstar came just a couple hours after she concluded her final show of the year in São Paulo, Brazil. Now, fans don’t have to worry about going too long without seeing their fave perform.
On Sunday night, Swift had a few special guests in the audience as she performed her career-spanning setlist. She also had the family of her late fan, Ana Clara Benevides Machado, in the stadium.
Benevides Machado sadly passed away before attending Swift’s show in Rio de Janeiro earlier this month. Because of that, Swift invited her loved ones to her final Brazil tour stop in São Paulo.
The 23-year-old died on Nov. 17 ahead of Swift’s concert at Estadio Nilton Santos.
The fan felt unwell at the Rio venue, and was attended to by first responders before being transferred to a nearby hospital. She passed away at the hospital, event organizer Time for Fun announced on X.
During Swift’s final performance, her family wore matching shirts with Benevides Machado’s face on them. Her loved ones watched the show from what appeared to be a VIP tent.
Machado’s family got an even bigger surprise before the show, though. Before the concert, fans reported that her loved ones got to meet Taylor.
Over the past couple months, Taylor Swift has been all over the news for her budding relationship with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce.
It all started in July, when Kelce attended Swift’s Eras Tour stop in Kansas City. He later revealed on his podcast that he planned to give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it, but he didn’t get the chance.
Fast forward to September, Swift surprised everyone when she attended Travis’ game against the Chicago Bears. She cheered the tight end on from his suite.
That day, they ended up leaving the game together, looking happier than ever. Clearly, they enjoyed one another’s company, because Swift attended another game on Oct. 1.
This time around, Swift brought some of her favorite friends to cheer on her boo. Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds were in attendance as Kelce won yet another game with his Taylor watching.
After supporting Travis at three different games, it was clear that things were heating up. Then, the couple was spotted arriving together for a Saturday Night Live after party on Oct. 15.
Clearly, Swift was having a great time supporting her boyfriend in all of his endeavors. Then, in November, he flew all the way to South America to do the same for her.
Kelce attended Swift’s Eras Tour stop in Buenos Aires, standing by the side of the stage as she performed. He hung out with Taylor’s dad throughout the night, proving just how serious their relationship is getting.
That same night, Swift added “End Game” and its sports-adjacent lyrics to her surprise set list of songs. Then, she changed a lyric in her hit “Karma” to say, “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me.”
Later that month, for a feature in the Wall Street Journal Magazine. Travis called Taylor “hilarious,” “a genius” and the kind of woman who holds his same worldview, putting family first.
He also acknowledged that he has some nerves about all of the newfound attention and spectacle of it all.
“Obviously I’ve never dated anyone with that kind of aura about them … I’ve never dealt with it,” he said. “But at the same time, I’m not running away from any of it.”
