Aaron Carter Vowed to Regain Custody Of His Son in Final Interview

The singer-turned-rapper and actor was tragically found dead at his home in Lancaster, CA on Saturday.

In one of his final interviews, Carter pledged to fight for custody of his infant son.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that after receiving a 911 call at 11AM Saturday, Aaron Carter’s body was found drowned in his bathtub.

Homicide detectives initially reported that there was no evidence of foul play, and a representative from Aaron’s team said that his cause of death was still being determined.

Aaron rose to fame in the 1990s, making a name for himself in the music industry at a young age.

He released his self-titled debut album when he was just 9 years old.

His older brother Nick Carter was a part of the massively famous Backstreet Boys, and Aaron even spent time on tour with them.

He later progressed into a career in rap music, as well as appearing on ‘Dancing With The Stars in 2009.

Neighbours said they heard Aaron’s employee screaming ”he’s dead, he’s dead,” when they found his body.

His family said: “We are extremely saddened and shocked to confirm the passing of Aaron Carter today. At the moment his cause of death is being investigated.”

Hilary Duff, Carter’s ex girlfriend from when they were teenagers, said ”Boy did my teenage self love you deeply.Sending love to your family at this time. Rest easy.”

Carter also had an 11 month old son, Prince, with his ex fiance Melanie Martin.

According to a September 2022 exclusive article in the US Sun, Carter lost custody of his son and entered rehab to bring his son home. He started a month-long outpatient program at the Lionrock rehab centre in Los Angeles in September in an effort to get Prince back

In one of his final interviews, the star said “I haven’t had any relapses or anything like that, it’s just triggers are big right now for me.”

”I want my son back,” Carter explained.

He shared the news of his son’s birth on 22nd November on Instagram last year.

He captioned the photograph of his newborn: “Emergency C Section after 13 hours of labor but my fiancée is in great health. Thank you lord and the incredibly sweet loving staff here. Prince is precious, I love you son. Your mommy loves you as I drop tears on the phone. This is me cutting his umbilical cord my precious family. @missmelaniemartin, I’m so proud of you hunny. You did it. I Love you with all my heart. My beautiful blessings from god.”
