Shocking footage has been released today that shows Honey, I shrunk the Kids actor, Rick Moranis, being randomly attacked in the street.
We all know and love actor Rick Moranis...But it seems that not everyone is a huge fan of his going by recent events.
Something shocking happened to the eighties actor in Manhattan recently...And people just can't figure out why.
Now, we all know that it's been a quiet few years for Moranis...But there's no denying that he is a Hollywood icon in his own right.
But there's one movie in which we know him best...
via: IMDBAnd that's the 1989 comedy, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.
It's the first installment of what went on the be a popular franchise.
via: IMDBThe story centers around an eccentric scientist who undertakes a rather poorly planned experiment.
As the title suggests, he shrinks his (and his next door neighbour's) kids.
via: IMDBThey end up just a quarter of an inch tall thanks to his "electromagnetic shrinking machine." And that's just the start of their troubles!
The kids are accidentally taken out with the trash.
via: IMDBThey then have to embark on a treacherous conquest through the back yard, all in the hopes of making it back home.
The cast was nothing short of perfect.
via: IMDBBut there was one undeniable star of the show - hapless dad, Rick Moranis.
His role as Wayne Szalinski is perfect.
via: IMDBAnd after the movie's release, it started to gain a cult following.
And thus, a huge franchise was born.
via: IMDBThere have already been 2 movie sequels to the film - alongside a television spin-off and theme park attractions.
All of these were successful.
via: IMDBBut nothing has quite matched up to the majesty of the original Honey I Shrunk the Kids.
But, following on from his HISTK success...Moranis retreated from the public eye as he wanted to dedicate time to being a full-time dad. "I took a break, which turned into a longer break," he explained.
But now, he is back in the spotlight...For all the wrong reasons.
Shocking footage is circulating online which shows Moranis, now sixty-seven, being randomly attacked in the upper west side, Manhattan.Police are currently searching for the man, seen above, suspected of unleashing the random and violent attack. It was reported that Moranis hurt his head, back, and hip in the attack and went to the hospital for evaluation.
People on Twitter are horrified by the footage...
And utterly confused as to why anyone would want to hurt Moranis, who is nothing short of a delight.
