Adele fans are not happy about how expensive it is to see the singer in Munich later this year.
Adele is one of the biggest stars in the world, selling out her residency in Las Vegas week after week as fans flock to Sin City to see her perform.
Still, despite her star status, she manages to keep her love life relatively private, always keeping us on our toes when it comes to her relationship with Rich Pa
The “Hello” singer and the sports agent made their union public more than two years ago, when they shocked everyone by sitting courtside at a basketball game in July 2021.
This marked the first public relationship for Adele following her divorce, which came two years after her split from ex-husband Simon Konecki.
Though the couple have attended multiple events together, and are not shy about hiding their union, it’s clear that they don’t want to give too many details about their personal life.
That’s why the pair immediately made headlines when Adele referred to Rich as her “husband” during one of her concerts back in September.
The shocking reveal happened at her Vegas “Weekends With Adele” residency, when a fan asked if they could marry her.
To that, the singer replied, “‘You can’t marry me, I’m straight my love… And my husband’s here tonight.”
But, in the months since, the couple still hadn’t confirmed if they were actually married, or if Adele was simply referring to Paul as her “husband” as a pet name.
In October, Rich appeared on CBS Mornings and was asked by Gayle King to clarify the rumors, but he didn’t exactly provide much clarity.
“She’s been great, I think she would agree that we’ve definitely helped each other,” the sports agent told King. “I’m in a good space, we’re in a good space. Happy. She’s superb… She’s been great for me. We’ve been great for each other.”
Going on to stress that his personal life is “not for the media,” when King asked if she should refer to the singer as “Mrs. Paul” the next time she sees her, Rich said, “you can say whatever you want.”
But now, a couple months later, it looks like we’ve finally gotten confirmation that the two did, in fact, tie the knot.
Adele reportedly dropped the huge relationship bombshell during Alan Carr’s comedy show in Los Angeles over the weekend.
Two fans in attendance at the comedy show relayed the big news to Instagram account DeuxMoi, which posts celebrity news and sightings spotted by fans.
One onlooker told the outlet: “I was at Alan Carr’s comedy show in LA tonight and Adele was in the audience. Alan asked the crowd if anyone got married recently and Adele shouted ‘I did.’”
Another audience member added: “When he asked if anyone got married recently she yelled ‘I did’. Super cute all around and was super sweet but dipped right before it ended.”
It’s still not clear when Adele and Rich Paul actually tied the knot, but with her multiple “confirmations” over the past few months, it’s safe to say Adele is a wifey once again.
While the whole world knows the “Easy On Me” singer, Paul is a star in his own right, working behind the scenes with some of the biggest athletes in the world.
Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Rich became a sports agent after meeting a teenage LeBron James at the Akron-Canton Airport back in 2002. That random connection ended up changing everything for Paul.
The pair eventually became so close that Paul went to work at Creative Artists Agency, under James’s then-agent Leon Rose. Today, he has his own agency—Klutch Sports Group–which he started in 2012.
In addition for being an agent to the most well-known basketball player in the world, LeBron James, Paul has a lot of other big names under his belt.
His clients include Brooklyn Nets player Ben Simmons, Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis, and Golden State Warriors player Draymond Green.
In March 2021, around the same time Paul started getting to know his now-wife, The Hollywood Reporter announced that the sports agent would release a memoir. The title of his book, which was released in October 2023, is Lucky Me: A Memoir of Changing the Odds.
The book is a coming-of-age story to be published by Roc Lit 101, the publishing division of Jay-Z’s entertainment company Roc Nation. The memoir is said to follow Paul’s upbringing in Cleveland, his relationship with his family, and his rise to the top in the sports world.
“Lucky Me is more than my story,” Paul said about his upcoming memoir in a press release. “Lucky Me is the story of every young Black man who grew up like me. I want to use my story to uplift and inspire those who lived this and educate those who didn’t.”
He continued, “I cannot tell you what it means to partner with my friend and mentor Jay-Z on this project. Lucky Me was the name of the book before I even spoke with Jay because his music was my life’s soundtrack.”
Though he’s now one of the world’s most powerful sports agents, when he was growing up in Cleveland, Ohio in the ’80s and ’90s, the odds were severely stacked against Rich.
In his memoir, he describes the trauma of having a mother who struggled with drug addiction and sometimes wouldn’t return home for days.
“I had built up this wall as a young kid,” he says, “to just have the understanding to move forward and know that she’s not going to be there. Like, Mom is not coming home.” That reality, he adds, “was one of the toughest things for me to relive and write about.”
Other difficult moments he had to endure, which he details in his memoir, include him having to routinely duck gunfire from warring neighbors or running for his life after winning a high-stakes dice game.
“The thing about it is,” he says, “I was never really a kid.”
According to Paul, the depths of his childhood trauma are what he says resonated most with Adele. It was then that she realized just how much the two of them really had in common.
“It was very emotional,” he says of his wife’s response to his book. “I think a lot of it probably hit home, so yeah, it was a difficult read [for her].”
Adele has opened up, publicly, about her own childhood struggles in the past.
While what she experiences was quite different than her now-husband, both of them experienced their fair share of trauma.
Growing up between Tottenham and Brixton, London, Adele experienced the devastating loss of her beloved grandfather, who passed away from cancer when she was just 10.
Her father, Mark Evans, also disappeared from her life for years, only to resurface when her career took off in her 20s.
“I went to go and see him in Wales and I wanted to play him ‘To Be Loved.’ My main goal in life is to be loved and love,” Adele told Oprah Winfrey in 2021, describing the time she met up with her father shortly before he died.
“I wanted to go back to my dad and tell him, ‘You’re the reason I haven’t done that yet.’ He was the reason I didn’t fully access what it means to be in a loving, loving relationship with somebody,” she admitted.
Since the first photos as a couple were taken of them at Game 5 of the NBA Finals in 2021, Adele and Rich have managed to maintain a low profile–despite the fact that they both run in very famous circles.
Still, the singer has been more public with this relationship than with her previous marriage, which is apparently deliberate.
E! spoke to a source close to Adele in 2021 about why the singer has been more willing to have her romance with Paul in the spotlight. At the time, she called their relationship “bit of a whirlwind.”
That said, “she’s very happy and loves being with him.” Paul is “outgoing” and wants to “out and about,” which Adele has “embraced,” the outlet’s source said. “She’s not as concerned about being private with her life because she’s very happy with Rich.”
New controversy
Later this year, Adele is heading to Munich for a series of concerts, which has local fans extremely excited.
Unsurprisingly, tickets to see the singer move quickly, and the cheapest options were purchased shortly after going on sale.
Sadly, this means there are a lot of fans who are going to miss out, which a lot of Adele’s supporters aren’t happy about.
The big announcement
“So a few months ago I got a call about a summer run of shows,” Adele wrote while announcing the concerts.
“I’ve been content as anything with my shows in London’s Hyde Park and my residency in Vegas, so I hadn’t had any other plans,” she continued.
“However, I was too curious to not follow up and indulge in this idea – a one off, bespoke pop-up stadium designed around whatever show I want to put on? Ohh!? Pretty much slap bang in the middle of Europe? In Munich?”
“That’s a bit random, but still fabulous!”
She continued, “Right after the Euros? Come on England! With the Olympics next door? Go on Simone! And some of my favourite artists playing shows too? Why…YES!!”
“I haven’t played in Europe since 2016!” Adele exclaimed. “I couldn’t think of a more wonderful way to spend my summer and end this beautiful phase of my life and career with shows closer to home during such an exciting summer. Guten Tag babes.”
Adele will play a total of 10 shows throughout the month of August.
But, in response to how quickly tickets are going, some fans have taken to social media to complain about the cost of the remaining tickets.
“Does Adele really need money to sell these tickets for these prices?” one supporter asked.
Another asked Adele if she’d consider “chatting with your team about the Munich prices.”
Many fans think these ticket prices prove the singer has gotten “too greedy.”
What do you think?
