And this leads to some creepy occurrences.
We’ve all had the experience of seeing a targeted ad that hits a little too close to home.
Say you’re talking with a friend about getting a cat…
And then your device instantly starts advertising cat food.
The idea of technology having too much power over us is highly unsettling.
And then there’s A.I. which is taking technology to a whole new level.
It might sound like something straight out of Blade Runner, but you’d be wrong.
Taiwanese network FTV have introduced A.I. to help run their weather channel.
The network have created an A.I. weather woman, and people online are going crazy for her.
After more than six months of preparation, the character gave a two-minute weather prediction for the channel on Monday.
During the programme, the virtual anchor went into great depth on the weather, just like any real anchor would.
To help her improve, she has also been equipped with the technology to learn from previous broadcasts, so she’ll only get better with time.
According to Thai PBS World, AI anchors are also apparently being developed in the US, South Korea, and India.
It’s likely this will go down pretty well for all those online who have been watching closely at Taiwan’s attempts with AI presenters.
Since a clip of the weather woman went viral, dozens have shared their thoughts.
Most confessing their love for the virtual anchor.
One user commented, “She looks beautiful. I want to marry her, everyone is invited to our Metaverse wedding”.
Another user commented, “I would date this AI.”
While another added, “The face is just waaaay too perfect…”.
Someone else replied, “She is stunning”.
