And even Billboard ranked Akon number 6 on the list of Top Digital Songs Artists of the decade.

His debut album in 2004 proved to be a huge success, and he then went on to produce multiple hit singles such as: ‘Locked Up’, ‘Bananza’, ‘Ghetto’, and ‘Lonely’…

And soon after he started his own record labels Kon Live Distribution and Konvict Muzik.

But that’s not all…

Back in 2010, Akon released a tribute song called ‘Cry Out Of Joy’ for his late friend Michael Jackson.

And it also featured in the late singer’s documentary, Michael.

Since then, the rapper has been involved with Stage11, which is a startup that helps celebrities like himself and Snoop Dogg create their own proprietary NFTs

Reportedly, Akon plans to release his next album as an NFT, but it seems like he also makes time for his personal relationships as well.

In a recent interview with American radio host, Big Boy, Akon revealed that having more than one wife is actually “easier” for him.

He was also probed about how many wives he really has, but he refused to answer saying he’s left it to speculation.

“I like that people guess,” he laughed.

When Big Boy rehashed the question, Akon confirmed he without a doubt has more wives than the host, who has one.

He explained: “See, your life is difficult because you have to focus on one thing all the time.”

“It’s difficult. It’s a lot more,” Akon added.

“Put it this way, I would hate to put an analogy this way because I don’t want it to be taken differently.

“Let’s say, hypothetically, you’ve got four Ferraris, different colors, every day you dress your outfit and you know which one to pull in, right, it makes it easier,” he continued.

“Now, when you only have a red one, then you’re like ‘damn how am I going to look in this one tomorrow, and next week.’

“Every day is a concentration of how… you can’t wear the same outfit every day,” Akon said.

Big Boy was left unconvinced and said Akon’s analogy made “no f***ing sense” to him, but in retaliation, Akon expressed it won’t make sense to him.

“Big Boy, you don’t want it to make sense,” Akon replied. “That variety makes life freer, it makes life open.”

Attempting to make his analogy easier to understand, the rapper then changed it to focus on hoodies, but again failed to clearly make his point come across.

“OK, so you’ve got four hoodies,” he began. “Every day, you’ve got a choice of which hoodie to wear without even double thinking because you have the choice to make.”

“One hoodie, you can’t wear that every day,” Akon said.

Yet again, Big Boy noted the flaw in his logic and pointed to the time and attention which would have to be shared across each hoodie.

Akon then claimed that it works for him before he said that in the US, guys are generally afraid of their women.

“In Africa, it’s totally different,” he explained.

“In Africa, there are two roles. The woman understands theirs and the guy understands theirs.

“The men are dominant, always have been. That’s just what it is,” Akon said.

“But at the end of the day, the women hold the power because the woman can create the opportunity for any man.

“There’s no powerful man without a powerful woman behind him,” he concluded.
