It’s becoming more and more clear which side Alabama Barker is on when it comes to her parents’ feuding.
Shortly after her mom’s latest comments about the Kardashians, it looks like Alabama has put in her two cents.
First, let’s look at the couple’s backstory…
Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler were married from 2004 to 2008.
In the four years they were together, they had two children: Landon and Alabama.
Moakler also has a daughter named Atiana from a previous marriage, who Travis also helped raise.
Now that the former couple’s kids are all grown up–at ages 18, 20, and 24, respectively–they’re making their way into the spotlight more and more.
Much of Alabama, Landon, and Atiana’s move into the limelight happened because of Travis’ highly publicized relationship with Kourtney Kardashian, which began in 2021.
But, while them joining the Kardashian clan has made the Barkers more famous than ever, it also may have caused some complications between the kids and their mother.
The big problem…
Over the past couple years, Shanna has been very vocal about her dislike for the Kardashians, previously alleging that Kourtney and Kim “destroyed” her family.
She also accused Kourtney’s lavish lifestyle of “putting a wedge” in her relationship with her kids.
“The Kardashians are buying my kids Prada every other day,” she told Us Weekly back in 2021. “They’re going on lavish trips. They’re doing all these things, which is fine…”
She continued, “I want that for my children. I don’t think it’s great when they put a wedge in between their biological mother.”
Still, despite Moakler’s insistence that the Kardashians are to blame for her family troubles, both Landon and Alabama have previously hinted that she hasn’t always been the best mother.
Landon even once described his mother as an “absent parent.”
The drama returns
This week, Shanna has spoken out against the Kardashians once again, saying they’ve caused a “divide” between her and her kids.
She’s also alleging that her children have gotten “caught up” in the famous family’s lavish lifestyle.
Shanna described the reality TV family as “disgusting” and claimed that she “removed” herself from the situation so that “they couldn’t bond” with her kids over “hating” her.
“Go do what you guys need to do, and when you’re ready, I will be here loving you unconditionally. And I will be here as your mother, and I will wait,” Shanna said, implying she still doesn’t have a great relationship with her children.
Shanna also threw some jabs at Travis and Kourtney, accusing them of “parental alienation,” and saying that her ex always wanted to one-up her by being the “super dad.’”
“‘I’m the best parent. I’m the this and that,’ and I’m like, ‘Bro, you win,’” she said of her ex-husband. “Like, you’re the winner here. You have all the money and you have all this. You’re the winner.”
Alabama has entered the chat…
Now, it looks like Alabama is putting her foot down when it comes to her mother’s wild claims.
Just one day after Shanna made these claims on her podcast, her daughter took to Instagram to post a cryptic Story.
“Once you stop relying on other individuals, your life will become so much better,” the post read. “Disappointment in others won’t exist.”
Of course, the 18-year-old didn’t mention her mom by name, but it sure seems like a response to everything going on in her family.
Plus, this wouldn’t be the first time that Alabama has used her Instagram Story to criticize her mom.
A damning history…
Back in 2021, after Shanna told TMZ that she and her kids were “alienated from each other” because of Kourtney, Alabama claimed that her mom had “never completely been in [her] life.”
“Can you guys stop painting her out to be an amazing mom?” the teenager wrote on Instagram at the time.
“Did your moms ask to see you on Mother’s Day [because] mine didn’t? I’m done keeping it a secret, reality shows,” she continued.
Landon chimes in…
Landon seems to have the same outlook on his relationship with his mother, saying in an episode of The Kardashians that Kourtney has filled a void in his life since becoming his stepmom.
“You look out for me like a mother and always have had my back,” he said during an emotional speech at Travis and Kourtney’s wedding in 2022.
He continued, “I really think you have filled the empty spot in my heart so well and have shown me great morals that have taught me so much.”
