A picture of Alec Baldwin with a lever action rifle was among the first to emerge from the new Rust film set.
This comes after cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was killed on set back in October 2021.
Read on to find out more.
Alec is no stranger to being in the headlines…
But this past year, things have been not quite so great for the star.
It all began when Alec Baldwin was given a “prop” gun that mistakenly contained live rounds.
The sixty-three-year-old was using a gun prop on the set of the American Western film, Rust, when he fired a round of blanks that killed cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins, as well as wounded the director of the film, Joel Souza.
Souza was immediately rushed to hospital where he received treatment for his injuries.
He was taken to Christus St Vincent Regional Medical Center for further examinations.
Hutchins was taken to the University of New Mexico Hospital but died when she got there.
The forty-two-year-old was transported to the location via helicopter but before she could undergo life-saving treatment, she succumbed to her injuries.
Rust was being filmed at the Bonanza Creek ranch just outside of Santa Fe when the incident occurred on October 21.
Santa Fe police deputies were called to the scene after Baldwin had misfired the prop during a scene.
Since then, Baldwin has gone through a lot of torment over the incident.
Many called out the actor for his actions, whether they were an accident or not.
The events of that day were truly tragic.
And it has been an extremely difficult few months for all involved in the heartbreaking situation.
But Alec and Hilaria Baldwin have found a “bright spot” after “many ups and downs over the past few years.”
Welcoming their 7th child together.
Hilaria announced the news in a post on Instagram.
And since then, congratulations have been pouring in…
One Instagram user wrote: “Oh my gosh! Congratulations!”
While another gushed: “Awe, can’t wait to see that sweet baby girl.”
Hilaria first took to Instagram to share a video of herself and Alec telling their children that she is pregnant.
Alongside the video, Hilaria wrote: “After many ups and downs over the past few years, we have an exciting up and a huge surprise: another Baldwinito is coming this fall.”
“We were pretty sure our family was complete, and we’re beyond happy with this surprise. I’m sharing with you the moment we told the kids — as you can see, they are super excited!”
“A blessing and a gift during such uncertain times,” she wrote adding that the baby was “a very bright spot in our lives.”
Alec Baldwin also explained why they have so many children.
And everybody loved his explanation.
Alec has 8 children in total, 7 of which are with Hilaria.
Their children include Carmen Gabriela, 8, Rafael Thomas, 6, Ángel Charles, 5, Romeo Alejandro David, 3, and Eduardo Pao Lucas, who is 1.
Alec also has another child with ex-Kim Basinger.
And that’s twenty-six-year-old, Ireland.
And now, he’s had his 8th child, 7th with Hilaria.
But, a lot of people always seem to ask why they have so many children… Well, it seems as though he has given us his answer.
He took to Instagram to share his reasoning.
And to be honest, we get it.
“People comment about how many children we have and ask why,” he wrote.
“This is why,” he continued.
“The thing in this life that matters most to me are these people.” he finished.
And with that, he shared an adorable video of his youngest children.
Hilaria also shared the clip on her Instagram, writing: “Some kids want to be superheroes and royals, my babies want to be puppies… as they are animal super fans.
“They dressed up last night… see again that [Eduardo] always gives [María Lucía] the bottle first? So sweet.”

Baldwin’s wife has further opened up about her husband Alec’s “enemies…”
In the explosive Instagram post, the 38-year old yoga instructor confessed how “wonderful” it was to be by her famous husband’s side.
And its not the first time she’s been in the news…
As earlier this year, it was reported by the Daily Mail that she “came under fire for lying about her Spanish heritage…”
As in December 2020 a viral Twitter post “raised questions” about the authenticity of her claims.
Apparently, she had “claimed to be born in Mallorca, Spain, only moving to the United States for college.”
However, reports later uncovered that she was born Hilary Thomas and “was actually from Boston.”
Hilaria then tried to come out clean when she posted an Instagram video…
And according to reports, she confessed to being a “white girl” from a “white family” who had grown up in the United States.
Since then, Hilaria has spoken about the public scrutiny her husband has faced after he shot and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the sets of his film Rust.
The black and white picture of herself and Alec was accompanied by a lengthy caption, in which she made some interesting claims…
It got everyone talking.
The former author revealed details of her husband’s frustrating “public scrutiny…”
Even mentioning how torturous it was for her behind the scenes as a wife and mother too.
“The darker part is seeing behind the curtain at how some of this ‘business’ can function and the blows and sacrifices that someone in the public eye takes for speaking up for what they believe and for helping others,” she wrote.
And that’s not all…
“To enter your world and become your person has been both a joy and an eye opening experience. How many wonderful moments, meeting incredible people, doing amazing experiences, and building a family. I am forever grateful. Every day,” wrote the former podcaster.
Then the post took a turn.
The star disclosed things that people did not expect…
More than a few eyebrows were raised…
“Enemies of these missions seek to destroy you, in order to delegitimize your voice and purpose,” she said.
She then went on to say that this was a “tactic” used to “slander” Alec and people were aware of it but chose to “stay silent out of fear.”
“This is not a new tactic…it’s as old as history…yet, how easy it is now more than ever to slander people and cherry pick and piece together strands taken out of context, ‘opinions’, or complete fabrications. And how some people believe it or stay silent out of fear,” she continued.
“Alec, how many times we look at each other and say: deep breath, in this together, keep on for the good of what we believe. How many times I’ve experienced people stopping you and thanking you for your philanthropy in the arts, your work with children, fighting for our environment, and yes, we all know: our politics,” she continued.
She then added that people saw how “hard” he fought for what he believed in and even added they were “a good team,” in Spanish.
“Listen to these voices..turn down the volume on the darkness and negativity.”
She also expressed that it hurt her as a wife to see Alec go through those “dark moments,” where she too experienced public backlash.
“I am the one that sees you in your dark moments… the human moments—away from the movie stardom and public figure that people are so quick to elevate or execute.”
“My empathy for your humanity is endless… unfortunately, having experienced the dehumanization myself, (another old tactic to go after the spouse of your enemy)…leads us to the moments when we think: how much more can one body and one mind take before we crumple beneath the psychological torture?” she wrote.
But the drama has since been quieted down since the couple named their 7th child…
On 25 September Hilaria Baldwin gave birth to a baby girl…
Announcing the news of her daughter’s birth in an Instagram post, Hilaria wrote: “She’s here! We are so excited to introduce you to our tiny dream come true.”
As well as announcing her beautiful but quite different name, and yes people couldn’t help but react…
“Fake Spanish name from Boston-born mom,” while a second echoed: “Hilaria & Alec Baldwin had their 7th child. Not one American name, not even a middle name,” one person wrote on Twitter.
“Her blatant trying to be Spanish is really quite irritating, why is it okay? Why does she keep trying? Have they really let it go to their heads that much?’ another added.
The comments kept on pouring in…
“Alec Baldwin’s wife faking being Spanish is so crazy. Changing her name from Hillary to Hilaria, naming all 7 of their kids with those roots, pretending to forget the english word for ‘cucumber’, faking an accent. She should’ve changed her name to hilarious instead,” said a fourth.
So what did they name their daughter?
According to UNILad, Hilaria said they had named their daughter Ilaria Catalina Irena…
But they didn’t realize it would cause such a commotion.
Hilaria also opened up about the struggle she’s facing raising her children…
After announcing her seventh child.
It was on Instagram that Hilaria announced her ‘mama guilt’ after posting a photo of herself and her kids in front of a mirror.
The caption on the post mentioned the struggles of raising more than six children.
“Making sure my other babies feel they have mama time too,” she wrote.
She continues: “Bringing baby home is magical, and it’s always a transition that we all feel. I am trying to balance new mom again, with breastfeeding, healing, and hustling to make sure all my children feel that I am there to be the best mama I can be.”
She then ended the post, saying, “Am I right? Def not all the time … Mama guilt? Obviously. Emotions: all over the place. 7th time around, I know this is a process.”
It seems as though Hilaria is doing well raising her other children after posting a photo of her 2 eldest children looking after their youngest sister.
“Grateful for these two, who come in to watch their little sister so I can shower,” she wrote on the post.
But following their new addition, fans have had one question on their minds…
Are there any more babies on the horizon?
Well, Hilaria has opened up about the topic…
“I would say that we’re done, but I said we were done with six. And yeah, I would say hopefully we’re done,” she told the Daily Mail.
“But Alec still has to go and do his part. So if he does not do his part, sometimes things can happen,” Hilaria joked, making a snipping gesture.
Hilaria has spoken about feeling “not okay” after the shooting on the set of Rust.
She also admitted to “struggling” shortly after the incident in October 2021.
In an interview with Extra, Hilaria confessed: “We’re not OK. We can’t be OK. No one’s OK.
“It was and is a tragedy that nobody could ever have imagined.”
It was then confirmed by Sky News that Baldwin will be charged with involuntary manslaughter.
The decision was announced today by Ms. Carmack-Altwies and special prosecutor Andrea Reeb.
The film’s armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed is also facing the same charge, the outlet reports.
Halyna Hutchins’ family then responded to the news.
Her husband Matt’s attorney Brian Panish, speaking on behalf of the family, made a statement, as per the Independent.
“We want to thank the Santa Fe Sheriff and the District Attorney for concluding their thorough investigation and determining that charges of involuntary manslaughter are warranted for the killing of Halyna Hutchins with conscious disregard for human life.
“Our independent investigation also supports charges are warranted. It is a comfort to the family that, in New Mexico, no one is above the law.
“We support the charges, will fully cooperate with this prosecution, and fervently hope the justice system works to protect the public and hold accountable those who break the law.”
However, new details from the lawsuit then emerged.
There was a new CGI reconstruction of what happened on set, as per Business Insider.
Attorney Brian Panish said: “We went to the scene, we assessed the scene with experts and we really dug into what we could.”
“I think the video explains why Mr. Baldwin and others were responsible and are responsible for safety on the job site and why their reckless conduct and cost-cutting measures led to the death of Halyna Hutchins.”
Experts then revealed the mistakes Baldwin made following the incident.
“The interview was a mistake,” former U.S. Assistant Attorney Neama Rahmani began to Fox News Digital, referring to the tell-all Baldwin did just two months after.
“I’m sure [his lawyer] did not want Baldwin to do the interview. But Baldwin or his PR team ignored his advice,” Rahmani explained.
“One of the biggest mistakes Alec Baldwin made was to go on George Stephanopoulos’ program and say he didn’t pull the trigger,” Fox News contributor and attorney Leo Terrell continued. “That was a lie. I guarantee you that’s going to come back to haunt him.”
Brand expert Eric Schiffer also explained how Baldwin lost the faith of the public.
“He hurt himself early on in unimaginable ways with the public who thought, ‘Why would any adult think it would be OK to aim a gun at anyone, let alone have it go off?'” Schiffer explained.
“And the other challenge for Baldwin is this claim that he never pulled the trigger, which is seen by the public as a big lie.
“Not only was it horrifyingly dumb, but it defies gun physics.”
Rachel Fiset, co-founder and managing partner at Zweiback, Fiset & Zalduendo, explained that these statements could come back to haunt Baldwin at trial.
“Generally speaking, when a possible defendant is under investigation, public statements about that investigation only serve to raise potential bias against the defendant,” Fiset explained.
“It is difficult for people in the public eye not to respond publicly to any allegations against them, and Baldwin did what so many people do, which was attempt to exonerate himself in the public’s opinion while the investigation was still pending, which is a natural reaction for a celebrity.”
“However, the message seemed a bit uncontrolled by his legal team and statements he made, which could now turn out to be untrue as a result of the investigation, may be used against him later to reduce his credibility.”
And Baldwin’s final mistake was speaking with the police.
“Baldwin’s interrogation with police officers was also a mistake,” Rahmani continued.
“Any competent lawyer will advise you to keep your mouth shut and not talk to the cops.”
And it’s been revealed that Baldwin could face up to five years behind bars over the offense.
If Baldwin is convicted of involuntary manslaughter due to underlying negligence, he faces 18 months of jail time and a $5,000 fine.
However, if it is proven there was more than common negligence involved, charges may include a firearm enhancement, which carries a sentence of five years.
The pair could face trial as soon as later this year.
And alongside this major charging decision, it’s been revealed that Baldwin is facing further lawsuits from Hutchins’s family.
The New York Post reports that Halyna Hutchins’ sister Svetlana Zemko and parents Olga Solovey and Anatolii Androsovych are filing a civil lawsuit against Alec Baldwin for “[alleged] battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence, and loss of consortium.”
Lawyer Gloria Allred shared in a press conference that Zemko “had a very close relationship with her big sister and she feels strongly anyone who is responsible for her loss must be held accountable.”
Since then, photos of Baldwin on the new set of Rust have emerged, and people are furious.
In the leaked pics, the actor can be seen holding a rifle…
Baldwin was seen passing the prop gun, handle first, to another staff member when he was filming sequences for the movie near Pray, Montana, on Friday.
This comes just one day after the prosecution dropped involuntary manslaughter charges against the actor.
The Santa Fe D.A. finally conceded that the prop gun Baldwin used at the time had a modified trigger, increasing the possibility that the firearm could accidentally fire without being pulled.
What do you make of it all?
