Fans couldn’t believe Usher’s real age.

Many guessed he’s in his 30s.

But in fact he’s a lot older than he looks.

He was born in 1978, making him 45 years old!

And the 45-year-old won’t receive a penny for the performance.

A spokesperson said: “We do not pay the artists. We cover expenses and production costs.”

Luckily, Usher definitely doesn’t need the money…

Decades in the industry

Usher has been in the music business for more than 30 years, so it should go without saying that he’s made some good money.

According to the RIAA, Usher has 23.5 million certified units in album sales, which makes him one of the top-selling artists ever.

While a lot of his money likely comes from music, he’s got his fair share of other business ventures that really add up.

The Voice

Usher first joined The Voice as a coach in season 4, later making his return in season 6. According to the Hollywood Reporter, he was offered $7 million to sign on for the fourth season, so it’s safe to say his season 6 salary was around that, too.

Touring

Unsurprisingly, he’s also made a lot of money from performing. His Truth Tour was one of the highest-earning in North America, grossing $29.1 million. The OMG Tour grossed just under $75 million, according to Billboard.

Las Vegas Residency

Usher first started his Vegas reign with a residency at Caesars Palace in 2021. Those 14 shows reportedly grossed $12.9 million. He’s been playing shows there ever since, with hundreds of celebrities in attendance, so it’s safe to say he’s earned that number dozens of times over.

RBMG Records

Usher is also a co-founder of RBMG Records with Scooter Braun who, along with Usher, discovered Justin Bieber when he was just a teenager.

The Cleveland Cavaliers

The star acquired a minority stake in the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2005, investing $9 million in the team and getting about a 1 percent stake. The team’s value has only gone up over the years, so it’s safe to assume he’s getting a good return on his investment.

Tidal

Usher was one of the original co-owner’s of Tidal along with Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, Madonna, and Rihanna. When the streaming service was acquired by Square in 2021, Variety reported that the original artist investors got $8.91 million each!

All of those business ventures, combined with his investment deals and other earnings, make for a pretty good pay day.

So, what’s his net worth?

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Usher has $180 million in the bank, which also includes several millions in real estate. Now that’s impressive!

One little problem…

While a lot of fans can’t stop raving about the halftime show, it didn’t exactly go completely as planned.

A lot of guests joined the superstar on stage for the performance, including Lil Jon, Ludacris, and Alicia Keys!

Keys took the stage to perform “My Boo” with Usher, their collaboration that dropped 20 years ago.

Sadly, there was a big mistake that happened during her time on stage.

Alicia was a little off-key when she started singing her song “If I Ain’t Got You” while playing piano during the performance.

A lot of fans noticed the flub, immediately taking to social media to clown the singer for the mistake.

But, if any of your friends missed the live show, they wouldn’t hear any issue with Alicia’s performance.

How is that so?

Well, it was edited out.

The official Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show video published on YouTube very clearly edited out the error.

When you listen to the comparisons between the live performance and the version posted on Youtube, it certainly seems like editors went back and polished up Alicia’s vocals.

What do you think of Apple enhancing Alicia’s vocals after the performance?
