Alicia, forty-four, has received endless praise after constantly defending her son, Bear’s, personal choices.

Read on to find out exactly what she said.

Now, most of us will recognize Alicia from the hit ’90s chick-flick, Clueless.

Aged only eighteen, the actress found her big break with the movie, where she played the role of shallow, rich, yet kind-hearted Cher.

And, to this day, it still remains as one of the most iconic and well-known chick-flicks from the ’90s.

Which she admits, now, was a lot to deal with as a young woman.

Speaking to The Guardian earlier this year, Alicia recalled, “I was so overwhelmed by being famous because I was such a young girl and it was never really my intention.”

“It was really just extreme how I was being talked to and talked about,” she says. “I think I just got really turned off by it.”

And, in a Rolling Stone interview at the time, she noted, “they say there’s a young Hollywood out there, but I’m not part of it.”

Following on from her Clueless success, the actress embarked upon a number of other high profile projects…

And, at the height of her fame, she was handed a rare multimillion-dollar, 3-year first-look deal by Columbia with her production company attached. For a woman of such a young age, this was staggering.

“I stopped loving acting for a very long time,” she admitted, adding that it was a role in a David Mamet play that reinvigorated her. “My body was just like, this is what I’m meant to do, I love it so much, I need to find a way to do both, to be able to be an actress and be an activist at the same time so that’s what I did.”

Though she still performs on and off-screen, Alicia’s passions lay within veganism, animal rights, and writing.

She regularly uses her Instagram account to remind her followers of the cruelty involved with the meat industry and has even starred in many ads and campaigns for the animal rights group, PETA.

She is now a devoted parent.

Though she separated from his father, Christopher Jarecki, in 2018, the pair still co-parent together. “We ask Bear where he wants to be. But then I started to wonder if that was too much pressure,” she explained on Today. “So, I checked in with him and he said, ‘I love that I get to decide.’ We both have different perks!”

Alicia has faced a considerable amount of backlash about her parenting decisions throughout the years.

She revealed that she and Bear still bathe together… And of course, that did not sit well with other parents.

“Mama and Papa aren’t going to stop him from being him. He’s beautiful and we love his hair!” she said. “We would never impose any social ideas about what hair on a boy or girl should look like. We should all try to embrace our children and who they choose to be without any judgment!” Now this one is actually a very wholesome one.

She then came out with another revelation about his upbringing.

The actress has admitted that Bear lives off a vegan diet and has even said that she never has to discipline him because of it. As most of you will know, the decision to raise a child on a vegan diet is a controversial one, with many health specialists saying it can cause long term damage to their developing bodies.

On his behavior, she explained, “We just can talk like that because he’s not feeling crazy. When [kids] feel bad, when they eat unhealthy food and they don’t feel good, then they don’t act good. Same as us.”

The star has come under fire because she claimed that due to the lifestyle he’s living, he’s “only been sick twice” and never had to take antibiotics.

On Thursday, she told Entertainment Tonight this: “He’s such an example of health. This is a child who is plant-based to never have needed antibiotics in 9 years and to never have needed any kind of medical intervention … Most kids have so many ear infections, they’re taking medicine all the time.”

“I’m not saying I wouldn’t give it to him,” she said. “I’m saying he doesn’t need it. … This is a kid who’s been [sick] twice in his life. Twice. For, like, a few hours. He said, ‘Mommy, I don’t feel good. I’m going to lay down.’ In his whole life, twice. He can get a snot nose, but he’s still climbing trees.”

“He’s just so healthy. I just want to share that with the world, so people can see that a plant-based baby is really healthy.”
