Amanda Gorman Celebrates Simone Biles With Stunning Poem ‘The Greatest’

American poet and activist Amanda Gorman has celebrated gymnast Simone Biles at the InStyle awards with a stunning poem called The Greatest

And people really can’t get enough of it…

For those who don’t already know, Simone Biles is an American artistic gymnast who has a combined total of thirty-two Olympic and World Championship medals.

And, with her determination and passion, she reminds people that you get what you work for no matter the obstacles you may be faced with.

Biles was adopted by her grandma and grandad, after being placed into foster care due to her mom not being able to look after Biles, and her siblings.

And honestly, people are just completely inspired by her determination not to let her past get in the way of what she loves to do.

Although, she’s not only inspired people with her hard work, but, her honesty, too, ensuring she remains open about what’s going on in her life, and with her mental health.

And now, Amanda Gorman has paid tribute to Biles by writing a poem that sums up just how incredible the gymnast is.

And her words were nothing short of stunning.

“I am here to celebrate the symbol that is Simone. Most well known for being the most accomplished gymnast of our time,” Amanda’s poem began.

“But it is time we see Simone as far more than her thirty-two medals. She is a champion because she never settles for less than the rebel she is,” Amanda said.

“That is what it means to be Biles. Bold, a beauty to behold at just twenty-four years old. She is such a treasure, her worth measures more than gold,” she continued.

“This is the thought, the thrill, the thunder behind her throne, Simone has shown that power is listening to a voice that is your own. That greatness lies not in if we’ve won, but if we’ve grown, and that when one woman speaks her truth, she is never alone.”
