There's a divide in the reading community that has been around for the last couple of decades. That is the divide between paper books and e-readers. Now while we know there is nothing that compares to the feeling of a thick, hardback book in your hands, you cannot beat the convenience of an e-reader.
Devices like the Kindle allow you to carry thousands of books right at your fingertips, even recommending your next read with millions of options. They also make good student devices if you have a lot of digital textbooks available to you.
Well, those looking to pick up a new e-reader will be pleased to know that Amazon has just knocked down the price of its Kindle Paperwhite all the way down to just $80 and its standard kindle down to just $65.
The Paperwhite may not be the brand new model, but remains one of the best e-readers you can buy. Not only is it compact and lightweight, but it also has a waterproof design that will protect it against those accidental splashes you have in your day-to-day life.
Amazon updated it a few years ago with a higher-contrast display plus Audible support, which means you can listen to audiobooks when you have a pair of Bluetooth headphones connected to the device.
However, if the Paperwhite is still a little pricey for you, the standard Kindle is much better now than it was a couple of years ago. Its last update included a higher-contrast display, a new front light that makes reading in the dark much easier, and a smaller, sleeker design.
For those who have not yet taken the plunge into buying an e-reader, Kindles have received convenient new features over the past few years and have become fantastic companions for the voracious reader.
