‘American Graffiti’ Star Bo Hopkins Dies Aged 80

American actor Bo Hopkins has sadly died at the age of eighty years old.

Hopkins, most commonly known for his role as Joe in the 1973 American Graffiti film, has passed away.

Sian Eleanor Green, Hopkins’ wife, shared the news, as per TMZ, revealing that he sadly suffered a heart attack, and died.

Hopkins, who has starred in movies such as The Wild Bunch, The Gateway, The Man Who Loved Cat Dancing, The Killer Elite, and More American Graffiti, has led an incredible life.

And many people are mourning the death of a terrific man.

“RIP Bo Hopkins. I acted with Bo and directed him as well. He was an honest and authentic actor and more importantly a terrific guy who spoke the truth with kindness and integrity. Those of us who knew Bo can count ourselves lucky,” said American director and actor, Ron Howard.

Before he excelled in the world of acting, Hopkins, who was adopted as a baby, served in the military. After his service, he married Norma Woodle at the age of just twenty-one, and welcomed his first child, Jane Hopkins, into the world.

The pair separated, with Hopkins remarrying Sian Green later in his life and having a second child, Matthew Hopkins.

Hopkins was regarded as one of the greatest supporting actors of his time and was an inspiration to all who knew him.

A fan of the actor spoke out giving a heartwarming tribute: “Devastated. Bo Hopkins has passed away. As a 70s kid, I grew up w/him. As an 80s chick, I loved him on Dynasty. My life was made when I met him. In the first pic, he had just said “Don’t faint on me honey I got a bad back & won’t be able to catch you.” RIP. Thanks for everything,” they wrote.

Hopkins passed away at a hospital in Van Nuys a few weeks ago, according to his wife, Sian.
