Earlier this week, Vice-President Kamala Harris made some bold claims about the American public’s faith in her and President Biden’s leadership.
Here’s the full story…
Now, for the most part, the new vice-president has been welcomed with open arms.
Harris, who is the country’s first-ever Black and female vice-president, made waves across the country upon being elected back in November.
In her first 2 weeks on the job, the barrier-breaking first woman operated a lot like many of the vice-presidents who came before her.
“Let me tell you something,” Harris told NPR shortly before taking office. “On every decision that we have made as an incoming administration, we are in the room together: Joe and I, the president-elect and I.”
The Biden Administration hit the ground running…
And, just hours after being sworn in, President Biden signed a historic seventeen executive actions – fifteen will be executive orders, all of which will be major reversals from Trump’s policies.
So, of course, their confidence levels are bound to be high…
And, over the weekend, Harris expressed them perfectly in her first major economic speech on Monday.
Many people were blown away by her speech…
However, others weren’t too impressed.
She made many bold claims.
Harris told an audience in North Carolina that the administration’s $2.3 trillion infrastructure plan is linked to Democrats’ push for more unionization, as per The Washington Times.
She also said that taxpayer-subsidized home health care and child care, also in the spending proposal, should become a “foundational support system for our nation”…
And, of course, touched upon the response to the COVID0-19 pandemic.
She claimed that American’s are “feeling a sense of relief.”
“Help is here,” she said proudly. “And hope is here, and things are looking up. Schools are reopening, businesses are reopening, grandparents are seeing their grandchildren in person.”
“We are delivering real, real relief, and the American people are now able to breathe easier and sleep better.”
However, the vice-president didn’t mention in her speech the migrant crisis at the southern border, a problem Biden has delegated to her.
