Andre Drummond recently saved his son’s life by quickly springing into action after the child accidentally fell into a pool.
Surveillance footage was posted by the basketball pro showing family members gathered around the pool at his house just before his 2-year-old son, Deon fell into the water.
Drummond, who was completely clothed, dove right into the water without even hesitating and rescued his little son while the other family members rushed to help him.
In the footage, you can see Drummond carrying his son over to another person, who lifts him out of the water, bringing him to safety.
This is definitely one of the worst nightmares a parent can face, and he handled it as if he was a professional lifeguard… those parenting instincts really kicked in.
“NOT ALL HEROES WEAR CAPES” Andre posted on Thursday. “A parent’s worst nightmare… feat my son & I.”
He made it clear that: “No one was harmed in this video” as well.
Of course, the video immediately went viral and received over 33,000 likes and 3.8k retweets, with people commenting on his heroic actions.
“Def the worst nightmare. Dope Drumm,” one wrote.
“Even if that was a pool full of sharks and snakes and piranhas I wouldn’t even hesitate for a split second to jump, salute man,” another exclaimed.
And another person said: “With a quickness bro, the dad life!”
Some people did notice, though, after watching the footage, that the woman at the side of the pool didn’t let her phone go…
“How’s the girl’s phone?! It didn’t get wet did it?!” one person sarcastically remarked, with another replying that: “She never let that damn phone go.”
So, it’s a good job the speedy 6 foot 10 basketball player was there to jump to the rescue, isn’t it!
Drummond recently celebrated turning twenty-eight on August 10th and he took to social media, writing: “HERE’S TO CHAPTER 28! THIS SHOULD BE A FUN READ 8/10/93.”
He is undoubtedly best known for being a professional basketball player for the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association. He was selected by the Detroit Pistons in the first round of the 2012 NBA draft with the 9th overall pick.
The basketball player has 2 children, Deon King Drummond, 2 years old, and Aubrey EllaRose Costandoni- Drummond, also 2 years old, both born in 2019 but have different moms.
Abigail Russo is the mom of young Deon, and Elizabeth Costadoni is Aubrey’s mom.
