Thunberg has become one of the biggest names in the world.

  via Getty Images

And now, years later, the young activist continues to dominate headlines.

Her career started when she was only fifteen.

  via Getty Images

Starting one day in August 2018, a then fifteen-year-old Thunberg decided to skip school to sit outside Sweden’s Parliament in Stockholm with the simple sign “Skolstrejk För Klimatet” — translating to “School Strike for Climate.”

She continued doing this every week.

  via Getty Images

And vowed to not stop until her government had done something about the climate change crisis.

It didn’t take long for her message to catch on.

  via Getty Images

Suddenly, millions of people were inspired to also do the same.

People all over the world had taken to the streets to fight against climate change.

  via Shutterstock

Her decision to protest peacefully has really changed the direction of the movement as a whole.

2019 was a whirlwind year for the teenager.

  via Getty Images

Thunberg attended numerous marches and protests all over the world and was even invited to the UN Climate Conference in New York, which she traveled to on a zero-emissions boat.

And during the event, she gave a scorching speech aimed at world leaders.

  via Getty Images

The activist blasted leaders and politicians for their lack of action regarding climate change.

“How dare you,” she exclaimed. “I shouldn’t be up here. I should be back in school on the other side of the ocean, yet you all come to us young people for hope. How dare you?”

Her work was recognized globally…

  via Getty Images

And soon enough, she was declared as TIME’s Person of the Year for 2019.

Fast forward to 2022…

  via Getty Images

The now nineteen-year-old Thunberg became a pioneer in pushing the movement forward along with other fellow activists including Vanessa Nakate, Ayakha Melithafa, and Xiye Bastida.

Her unwavering commitment to saving our planet continues to inspire people to live more sustainably every day.

But alongside her admirers are her critics…

  via Getty Images

And former POTUS, Donald Trump, is one of those vicious critics.

Of course, we all know that Thunberg didn’t agree with Trump’s policies on climate change…

  via Getty Images

Especially when he made the decision to pull out of the vital Paris Climate Agreement.

The teenager has publicly slammed Trump on several occasions…

  via Getty Images

Which, of course, never went down well with the former hot-headed President!

Trump would often take to Twitter to slam Thunberg…

  via Getty Images

And in a very childish manner, the former President would enjoy tearing apart her name and legacy.

It was enough to drive anyone crazy…

  via Getty Images

But thankfully, Thunberg took it all with a pinch of salt and simply ignored Trump’s nasty comments until after the election.

During an interview in the United Kingdom, Thunberg was asked about the time she responded to Trump telling her to “chill” and “watch an old-fashioned movie” on Twitter.

  via Getty Images

For those who don’t remember, the activist tweeted back at Trump when he lost the election, saying: “Chill Donald, Chill!”

“I don’t see it as ‘I want revenge’ or something. I try, as much as I can, to not speak about individuals. Because that’s what they [politicians] do,” she said.

She then added:

  via Getty Images

“But of course, it is very hilarious when they write and say these kinds of things. It’s a very clear sign that they are seeing the climate movement as threats, and rather than speaking about the climate crisis itself, they try to shift the subject to someone like me.”

And a quote like that wasn’t just referencing Trump, but all world leaders that refuse to acknowledge the climate crisis.

  via Getty Images

The teenage climate activist has hit out at everyone that attended the Cop26 Climate Change Conference.

Thunberg claimed that world leaders are only “pretending” to care about the ongoing issue.

  via Getty Images

“This COP26 is so far just like the previous COPs and that has led us nowhere,” she told people attending a rally near the conference in Glasgow. “They have led us nowhere. Inside COP there are just politicians and people in power pretending to take our future seriously,” she said.

“Pretending to take the presence seriously of the people who are being affected already today by the climate crisis. Change is not going to come from inside there — that is not leadership.

  via Getty

“We say no more ‘blah blah blah.’ No more exploitation of people and nature of the planet. No more exploitation. No more whatever the fuck they’re doing inside there,” Thunberg continued.

But as candid as Thunberg has been professionally, there’s been a lot we don’t know about her personal life.

  via Getty Images

Until recently…

She really opened up in a new interview with The Times.

  via Getty Images

Thunberg claimed that she would “never go out drinking,” adding, “I don’t know if that’s because I’m that kind of person or if it is because I don’t want to be ‘seen.'”

It’s this self-consciousness that she believes also affects her dating life.

  via Getty Images

“If I come up to them, you’re more vulnerable,” she said. “So you have people looking up to you, but you’re also much more vulnerable.”

Thunberg also claimed that she never keeps any of the money she makes from her activism.

  via Getty Images

“The proceeds that I will make will go to charity. It would be nice to have money, but by donating…  For example, if I donate it to rewilding or nature conservation, I can start a debate on that.

“If I donate to refugees, you can talk about why – and then you can explain,” she said.

  via Getty Images

Thunberg also opened up about the unique position she holds amongst climate activists.

“There are very few who have the experience of being a grassroots campaigner and also being followed by the paparazzi.

  via Getty Images

“Someone recently told me I am an influencer, but I don’t like that,” she said.

“My position is very different!

  via Getty Images

“But we’re not doing all this because we want to. We’re doing this because it seems like you have to do something,” Thunberg confessed.

In the interview, the nineteen-year-old shared more juicy details about her life.

  via Getty Images

According to Bunte, Thunberg revealed that she does not live alone, but in a flat that she shares with 2 fellow residents.

As an autistic person, her life with other people isn’t so easy, however, Thunberg seems to cope well with it.

  via Getty Images

“I don’t know what happened to me either. I’ve gone from someone who never speaks to someone who hardly ever shuts up. Somehow I want to have people around me all the time now. Otherwise, I do puzzles, embroidery, and talk a lot of nonsense,” she said.

The activist confessed the situation is quite different from her everyday life, which presents her with very special problems…

  via Getty Images

One being her indecisiveness.

“Sometimes I flip a coin or ask people without context: yes or no? It is very difficult for me to make decisions,” she said.

  via Getty Images

Reportedly, it mainly concerns unspectacular questions such as the choice to wear her socks, bigger decisions are much easier for her.

But her commitment to climate change remains her utmost passion, of course!

  via Getty Images

And now she’s been making headlines once again…

This time for destroying Andrew Tate.

  via Getty Images

Greta called him out for having “small d**k energy.”

Honestly, we couldn’t agree more.

Her comments came after Tate took a stab at the teen on Twitter…

  via Getty Images

Gloating that he owns “33 cars” with “enormous emissions.”

He tweeted: “Hello @GretaThunberg I have 33 cars. My Bugatti has a w16 8.0L quad-turbo. My TWO Ferrari 812 competizione have 6.5L v12s.

  via Getty Images

“This is just the start. Please provide your email address so I can send a complete list of my car collection and their respective enormous emissions.”

His post garnered a lot of attention, with many calling Tate out in the comment section…

  via Shutterstock

One wrote: “Translated this for you: My 33 cars are a pathetic attempt to compensate for my inability to feel like a real man, which conflicts with my constant diet of toxic masculinity. I am an impotent bottom who attacks young women as a way to perform for the men I truly desire.”

But it was Greta’s reply that stole the show…

  via Getty Images

She wrote: “Yes, please do enlighten me. Email me at smalld**[email protected].”

Her comment gained millions of likes, with thousands of Twitter users responding in amazement at the blow.

  via Shutterstock

Dozens shared GIFs of shocked celebrities.

And it seems “Tiny Tate” couldn’t handle the burn…

  via Getty Images

The ex-kickboxer responded to her comment, trying, unsuccessfully, to get the ball back in his court.

He simply replied: “How dare you?!” in reference to the viral comment she made to world leaders while discussing the climate emergency.

  via Shutterstock

One Twitter user commented: “Maniac tough guy Andrew Tate getting told he has small d**k energy by a teenage girl he harassed and only being able to muster “how dare you?!” as a response is Elon-level reputational self-injury.”

“You spent your life training to fight only to get your face kicked in by a teenage girl with one sentence well done tater,” another wrote.

How embarrassing!

Well, not quite as embarrassing as what happened next…

  via Shutterstock

Tate has been arrested, along with his brother in Romania after giving his location away in a video response to Greta.

He is wanted by police on possible charges of human tr*fficking.

  via Shutterstock

Authorities released a statement, saying: “The prosecutors of the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism – Central Structure together with police officers from the Bucharest Organized Crime Brigade implemented 5 home search warrants in a case in which investigations under the aspect of committing the crimes of constituting an organized criminal group, human trafficking, and r*pe.”

The video he posted to Greta on Twitter gave him away.

  via Getty Images

In the video, Tate tries to flip the embarrassment onto nineteen-year-old Greta, and the whole thing is pretty hard to watch.

However, while trying to look like he’s above her comments, he tripped himself up…

  via Shutterstock

He featured a pizza box, which he was adamant he would not recycle, from the Romanian pizza chain, Jerry’s Pizza, which tipped officials off to his whereabouts.

In the video, Tate was given the box and said: “Please make sure these boxes are not recycled”.

And after finding out about his arrest, Greta trolled him once again…

  via shutterstock

Mocking Tate with another savage blow.

She tweeted: “This is what happens when you don’t recycle your pizza boxes.”

  via Getty Images

Her tweet has already gained almost 4 million likes online.

Since his arrest, a spokesperson for Tate has released a statement…

  via Shutterstock

According to the Daily Mail, they said: “We cannot provide any details at the moment regarding alleged reports that they have been detained; however, Andrew and Tristan Tate have the utmost respect for the Romanian authorities and will always assist and help in any way they can.”

As a result of the viral video that led to his arrest, people are flooding Jerry’s Pizza with rave reviews online.

  via Shutterstock

One said: “So good! Or shall I say, arresting! You’ll want to handcuff yourself to this pizza!”

“Pizza so good you’ll dox yourself to get a slice,” another commented.

  via Shutterstock

While a third wrote: “I’m in shackles at how good this pizza joint is. Such an arresting experience. They can lock me away in their restaurant any time for some good quality pizza.”

But despite all the support, Greta is receiving, it seems not everyone is impressed…

  via Getty Images

Cardi B has left fans shocked at her response to the recent Twitter spat.

She posted a photo of the young activist on Twitter with the caption: “IDC.”

  via Getty Images

And people weren’t happy with her attitude towards Greta. One Tweeted: “You’re in the same boat as Tate, we don’t like you either. Stop riding waves.”

Another wrote: “Wym by this? Bc if you’re against her. That’s very concerning.”

  via Getty Images

“Cardi, I’m a fan of yours but I don’t get this,” a third chimed.

But it seems the majority of people are on Greta’s side…

  via Shutterstock

As someone has edited Tate’s Wikipedia page to add his Twitter fight with the young activist.

As we know, Tate was a professional kickboxer, and his Wiki page details all about his previous fights…

  via shutterstock

Including his recent throwdown with Greta.

Someone completely altered his fight statistics, showing Greta knocked him out in 0.01 seconds.

  via shutterstock

It has since been removed from Wiki, but plenty of social media users have screenshotted the page.

One wrote: “Nah stop it, someone edited Andrew Tate’s wiki page to say he lost to Greta. [This is] possibly my favorite Wiki edit to date.”

  via Getty Images

Following this, Tate suffered another blow.

Romanian police confirmed to Insider that they have confiscated all of Tate’s vehicles.

  via Getty Images

This is to “sustain the cost of the investigation” into Tate.

The cars may also be used as collateral to fund payment toward Tate’s alleged victims.

  via Shutterstock

And then reports from inside Tate’s Romanian jail surfaced …

The Council of Europe’s Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment’s 2021 report looked inside many Romanian prisons.

  via Shutterstock

And what they found was rather disturbing.

The report reads: “Material conditions in all the prisons visited were generally poor.”

  via Shutterstock

“With cells dilapidated, lacking equipment (storage space, tables and chairs), and mattresses and bedding worn out and infested with bed bugs and cockroaches.”

Things then got even worse for Tate…

  via Shutterstock

As he lost his appeal to end his detention.

Tate appeared in court where he lost his appeal against the 30 day arrest period, LadBible reports.

  via Shutterstock

And his detention time could get even longer as should prosecutors wish to do so, they could request a detention period of up to 180 days for Tate.

But even though he’s imprisoned, Tate is still active on social media.

He recently took a swipe at Logan Paul.

  via Getty Images

Which is likely in reference to his new energy drink, Prime, being sold for wildly inflated prices.

“Lol. Even in Romanian Prison they talk about Logan Paul being a scammer,” he wrote.

  via Getty

Tate came under fir once more soon after.

Daria told BBC News she was just 16 when Tate first messaged her.

  via Shutterstock

“We had our high school in our bio and everything. I think he was just trying to find girls who were as innocent or naïve as possible, in my opinion,” she said.

It just read ‘Romanian girl’ and he put some flirty emoji,” Daria continued. “I was confused because I [only] had 200 followers, and it was a private account.”

  via Getty Images

Tate has reportedly said in the past, “Sometimes … I’ll put a completely pointless emoji on the end: some cherries, or an orange, or a strawberry.”

Daria also said, “This is a big problem because we can’t wake up in 20 years with two million Andrew Tates.”

  via Shutterstock

Tate has also been complaining about his prison’s conditions.

YouTube account Fesify claims that Tate wrote: “They’re trying to break me. Thrown inside a cell without light.

  via Getty Images

“Cockroaches, lice and bed bugs, are my only friends at night.

“When the guards bring me to and from the courtroom, I stay absolutely respectful.

  via Shutterstock

“They try to pour hatred into my heart. But please and thank you, you stick with me at all times.

“Our prison guards are just performing their jobs, they have families to feed in times of hardship. Do not forget your manners.

  via Shutterstock

“They are trying to break my iron mind with unjust imprisonment. My absolute respect for everyone around me is my act of absolute rebellion.

“They cannot break me.”

  via Shutterstock

Tate then spoke out again.

Taking to Twitter to worryingly state: “I would never kill myself.”

  via Getty Images

Earlier this week, Tate was hit with more bad news.

As a judge has ruled to extend his sentence for a third time.

  via Shutterstock

The judge ruled that the “particular dangerousness of the defendants” as well as their capacity “to exercise permanent psychological control over the victims” means it safer to keep them behind bars for now.

And now, Tate has opened up about his exercise rutine in prison.

  via Shutterstock

“I am in a cell. I have extremely limited freedom of action,” he said.

“Every single day, I do 500 squats. 500 push-ups. Practice my tiger paw technique. Walk 10km. Write and complete lessons for the students inside The Real World. Read and respond to 100s of letters.”

  via Shutterstock

“Read my Quran. And then begin my day of strict long meditation. You have all your freedom of movement. You have unlimited information and accessibility at your fingertips.”

“If my days in this cell are more productive than yours, you should be furious with yourself. It means you are failing. How will you ever reach greatness when you do not even outperform a man in a jail cell? Work harder. You cannot afford to fail any longer.”

  via Shutterstock

What do you think of his view?
