There’s no doubt that Anna Faris has had an epic career.
If we rewind for a sec, some of her first movies were Take Me Home Tonight and What’s Your Number?
Faris is an undeniably well-established actress.
In 2000, she had a starring role in Scary Movie — a spoof horror series that re-enacted scenes from famous horror scenes. It was in this role of Cindy Campbell that people really started noticing her excellent timing.
Faris was later immortalized through her role in Friends.
Faris was in the final series of Friends. She played the small-town pregnant lady, Erica, whose children Monica and Chandler were adopting. Her character wasn’t so smart and most notably, hadn’t realized that she was pregnant with twins.
And of course, who can forget her role in The House Bunny?
Faris was hilarious again in her role as an exiled Playboy Bunny. This was also one of Emma Stone’s first roles, as she plays a nerdy college student who Faris tries to change so that she’s more like a Playboy Bunny.
From 2013, she starred in the sitcom Mom.
The show is unique in not having any long-running male protagonists. Instead, it was a female-centric show that brilliantly showcases female comedy and issues.
But that came to an end rather abruptly…
As Faris unexpectedly quit the show causing a lot of speculation.
Faris is no stranger to making headlines.
Her relationship with Chris Pratt well and truly dominated the news cycle.
The pair married in 2009 and just a few years later, Faris gave birth to their son, Jack.
But in 2017, Faris and Pratt separated, later filing for a divorce after 5 months apart.
Luckily, the pair have remained close.
They’re good friends and co-parents — so that’s something of a happy ending.
But Faris and Pratt hit headlines for something that may have put a strain on their friendship.
After Pratt shared a post dedicated to his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, that praised her while using a controversial choice of words…
In Pratt’s adoring post to his wife, he thanked her for giving him “a gorgeous healthy daughter.”
“Find you somebody that looks at you like that!! You know!? We met in church. She’s given me an amazing life, a gorgeous healthy daughter, she chews so loudly that sometimes I put in my earbuds to drown it out, but that’s love!” he wrote.
Pratt and Schwarzenegger share a daughter named Lyla.
However, many think that his choice of words are insensitive to Faris and their son, Jack.
Jack, was born 9 weeks premature and Faris has previously revealed that their son weighed just 3 pounds and twelve ounces at birth, The Independent reports.
Jack also spent the first month in the NICU.
BuzzFeed reports that Faris opened up about Jack’s birth in her memoir, Unqualified.
“The pediatric neurosurgeon sat Chris and me down to tell us that Jack had some severe brain bleeding and there was a chance that he could be developmentally disabled,” she wrote.
Since then, Faris has spoken out about her previous claim of a director’s inappropriate behavior towards her.
Speaking on her podcast Unqualified, the actress disclosed the identity of the director…
During a candid conversation with actress and filmmaker, Lena Dunham Faris, Faris said: “One of my hardest film experiences was with Ivan Reitman. I mean, the idea of attempting to make a comedy under this, like, reign of terror, he was a yeller. He would bring down somebody every day…and my first day, it was me.”
She added that she had to fight back tears during her turbulent first interaction with the director after she was late to set due to an accident.
In response to Faris’ claim that the director slapped her behind, Dunham said: “I don’t think you’re the first person who’s reported that. And I’m so sorry you had that experience. And did no one step in and say, ‘No?'”
Faris then revealed when the abusive encounter happened…
“No. It was, like, 2006,” she responded.
The actress then described the incident in the past, but not previously revealed the name of the director.
“I was doing a scene where I was on a ladder and I was supposed to be taking books off a shelf and he slapped my a** in front of the crew so hard. And all I could do was giggle,” she said.
Faris said she didn’t know how to react so turned to humor as a defense mechanism.
“I remember looking around and I remember seeing the crew members being like, ‘Wait, what are you going to do about that? That seemed weird.’ And that’s how I dismissed it. I was like, ‘Well, this isn’t a thing. Like, it’s not that big of a deal. Buck up, Faris. Like, just giggle.’ But it made me feel small. He wouldn’t have done that to the lead male.”
Faris also claimed the filmmaker told her agent that she was hired because of her “great legs.”
“I remember that same director telling my agent, who told me, that I had great legs and that was one of the reasons that I got hired,” Faris revealed.
“And listen, that’s a f***ing great compliment. I like my legs. But that sort of informed my whole experience with that whole project. I don’t think the male lead got hired because he had great legs. Therefore I felt like I’m hired because of these elements — not because of [talent].”
Faris revealed it was the late Ivan Reitman, who inappropriately touched her on the set of their 2006 rom-com My Super Ex-Girlfriend.
She said he “slapped my a**” during the production and on her first day “yelled” at her, leaving her feeling “angry, hurt, and humiliated.”
