As we know, Hammer was the subject of months of controversy last year.
He’s had some wild and very serious accusations made against him.
And it appears he’s trying to lay low…
Obviously, the scandal resulted in him being canceled online, and he’s been unable to get work since, which is why RDJ has stepped in to lend a helping hand.

Now, cancel culture has been rife on social media lately.
Traditionally, the term “canceled” means to “dismiss something,” or to “reject an individual or an idea,” as per Dictionary.
And we’ve seen the term transformed on the internet over the last few years…
Canceling someone – whether it be rejecting them, ignoring them, publicly opposing their views or actions, or depriving them of time and attention – has become the go-to tactic for disgruntled and offended internet-goers.
First, we have J.K Rowling…
Perhaps the most memorable example is the previously beloved mastermind behind the Harry Potter franchise, J.K Rowling, who was savagely “canceled” after expressing her views on women and gender.
On June 6, 2020, Rowling retweeted an op-ed piece that discussed “people who menstruate,” apparently taking issue with the fact that the story did not use the word women.
She then commented: “‘People who menstruate.’ I’m sure there used to be a word for those people. Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?”
Her comments didn’t sit well with her followers, who immediately turned on the author.
The internet was alight with allegations of transphobia and even some calls for Rowling and the Harry Potter franchise to be canceled and boycotted entirely.
Then there was Ivanka Trump…
Amid former President Trump’s controversial response to the BLM protests last summer, his daughter was hastily dropped by Wichita State University Tech in Kansas just hours after it had been revealed she would be giving a speech to its students.
In response to the decision, Ivanka Tweeted: “Our nation’s campuses should be bastions of free speech.”
She blasted both the university and cancel-culture, adding that: “Cancel culture and viewpoint discrimination are antithetical to academia.”
Many Twitter users have taken to the site to share their viewpoints on cancel culture.
On these social platforms, canceling users with opposing views has become the norm — but does that mean it’s the way forward?
Despite the majority being on board with the move, some are speaking out against it.
By arguing that it is a form of bullying and will be the “death of free speech.”
It seems as though many celebrities agree…
An open letter to Harper’s Magazine was signed by more than 150 prominent authors and journalists, including J.K Rowling, Salman Rushdie, and Margaret Atwood, decrying what they see as a loss of open debate and tolerance as a result of cancel-culture.
Even former President Barack Obama appears to be against it…
In an eye-opening speech at an Obama Foundation event in 2019, he told those who are “politically woke” to “get over that,” and pointed out that canceling people online “isn’t activism.”
“That’s not bringing about change,” he said. “If all you’re doing is casting stones, you’re probably not going to get that far. That’s easy to do.”
So, as you can see, there are many celebrities who are not the biggest fans of the internet’s new obsession with cancelation.
A lot of celebrities have been called out one way or another over the years, and Armie Hammer is no exception.
This is because he was under investigation last year for accusations of r*pe.
Hammer’s previous girlfriends spoke out against the actor in 2021, revealing they were subject to emotional and s*xual abuse as well as manipulation by the actor.
Some also shared Hammer’s disturbed cannibalistic fantasies.
Famously, Hammer’s ex-girlfriend Courtney Vucekovich, alleged that he told her, while they were in a relationship, that he wanted to cook and eat her rib.
Hammer hit back at the allegations, telling Variety that they were “bulls***.”
He said: “I’m not responding to these bulls*** claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me.”
As a result of the claims made against him, he decided not to shoot an upcoming movie with Jennifer Lopez and backed down altogether.
He explained that he couldn’t “in good conscience now leave [his] children for 4 months to shoot a film.”
Then, in March last year, allegations of r*pe were made against him.
Hammer, was accused of both r*pe and physical abuse by one of his ex-girlfriends.
The woman in question, Effie, shared that “On April 24, 2017, Armie Hammer violently r*ped me for over 4 hours in Los Angeles.”
She continued: “During which he repeatedly slapped my head against a wall, bruising my face. He also committed other acts of violence against me to which I did not consent.”
Hammer also allegedly repeatedly whipped the bottom of her feet “so they would hurt for the next week.”
She said at the time that she tried to escape “but he wouldn’t let me.”
“I thought that he was going to kill me,” she said.
And this wasn’t the only case brought against him.
As time went on, more and more women shared their shocking relationship stories on social media, and it was clear his behavior was more than just a harmless consensual kink.
They accused him of being an abuser.
The backlash led to Hammer getting dropped for upcoming projects, and even his agent refused to work with him.
After everything that’s happened, it seems Hammer is trying to lay low.
But it doesn’t look to be working very well for him.
A source, who spotted Hammer working in a hotel, share that the actor is now selling timeshares in the Caymans…
They added that he is “working in a cubicle” and is “totally broke.”
Speaking to Variety, the source assured the outlet that Hammer was in fact working as an employee, despite the hotel denying the claims.
They said: “He is working at the resort and selling timeshares. He is working in a cubicle.”
People can’t believe the news…
One Facebook user wrote: “Why do men think they can do anything and not get caught? Is it worth losing respect, your family, your kids, your family? No, it’s really not!”
The source continued: “The reality is he’s totally broke and is trying to fill the days and earn money to support his family.”
They also said they spotted him selling timeshares, and managing a local apartment complex.
Hammer reportedly relocated to the Caymans in order to be closer to his ex-wife, Elizabeth Chambers, and their children.
The MailOnline was first to report that Hammer was working at Morritt’s resort after he was seen wearing a uniform on the site.
He was also spotted liaising with customers.
So, although he might have been born into family fortunes, Hammer has been cut off, leaving him struggling to pay rent.
Hammer’s attorney Andrew Brettler has since spoken out about the media backlash to the news, telling Page Six: “I just think it’s s***** that, if he is selling timeshares, the media is shaming him for having a ‘normal job.'”
Despite being cut out of the Hollywood scene, it seems one fellow actor has his back…
Robert Downey Jr.
The actor has been supporting Hammer financially through this hard patch in his life.
Not only that but he’s also offered him a place to stay.
Hammer has been spotted going to and from the stars’ house after leaving the Cayman Islands.
Page Six also revealed that Hammer has been joined at Downey Jr.’s residence by Elizabeth Chambers and their 2 children.
It might come as a surprise for some to see the Iron Man star help Hammer, but Downey Jr. himself knows what it’s like to be shunned from the spotlight.
Back in the ’90s, Downey Jr. suffered from substance abuse problems, which subsequently caused his career to break down.
It took a long time to get back on his feet, and it seems he’s wanting to help Hammer do the same.
And now a trailer for the upcoming Discovery+ docuseries House of Hammer has dropped and it dives into the alleged dark side of the disgraced star.
Several of Hammer’s ex-girlfriends came forward to shed light on their past relationship with the actor.
During the trailer, there are some pretty shocking revelations…
And this one will leave you gobsmacked.
In the trailer, Courtney Vucekovich recalled how Hammer seemed “perfect” from the start of their relationship…
As the actor would compliment and shower her with love.
But this sadly changed…
When Vucekovich received numerous text messages from Hammer…
It was here she shared the shocking confession…
Claiming Hammer left her “immobilized.”
In January 2021, Vucekovich told Page Six that the actor’s idea of pillow talk was fantasizing about which body parts he’d like to taste…
Including which parts he’d like to roast and devour.
“He said to me he wants to break my rib and barbecue and eat it,” Vucekovich revealed.
She then went on and said she thought it was weird…
“‘F**k that was weird,’ but you never think about it again,” she said.
She also claimed he’d even suck her blood if she had a cut.
“He said, ‘I want to take a bite out of you.’ If I had a little cut on my hand, he’d like to suck it or lick it. That’s about as weird as we got,” Vucekovich said.
Then she dropped the bombshell confession…
“He was 100 percent a cannibal and wanted to eat me,” she concluded.
You can watch the for House of Hammer here.
What do you think about that shocking confession?
