Now, Arnold Schwarzenegger is a legend to us all, and if you don’t know who he is… How could you not?
Born on July 30, 1947, near Graz, Austria, the star rose into the public eye as the world’s top bodybuilder.
Schwarzenegger began lifting weights when he was just fifteen years old.
He then won the Mr. Universe title at the age of twenty.
And the 1977 documentary, Pumping Iron, which chronicles the tale of Schwarzenegger’s defense of his Mr. Olympia crown, was released in 1977 when he was just thirty years old.
And it just got better from there.
Schwarzenegger soon turned to the movies, in particular, those of Reg Park, a bodybuilder, and star in B-level Hercules movies, for inspiration for what would later become a hugely successful movie career.
And he got off to a strong start…
After a few small parts, Schwarzenegger received a Golden Globe Award for Best Newcomer for his performance in 1976’s Stay Hungry.
He made any movie he was in a fantasic 1.
Going on to become a leading figure in several smash-hit ’80s action flicks, including Conan the Barbarian (1982) and its sequel, Conan the Destroyer (1984).
Schwarzenegger is well known for 1 particular role.
The popular Terminator franchise.
Which fans couldn’t get enough of.
And have seen the star reprise his role for several sequels.
But that’s not all Schwarzenegger has achieved.
The star threw his hat into the California governor’s race and ended up winning a seat in a special election.
“If they don’t have the guts, I call them ‘girlie-men,'” he said of Democrats, early in his first term.
“They should go back to the table and fix the budget.”
He’s truly an incredible figure for our society.
And strives to be a great role model.
Despite his incredible success…
Things have taken their toll on the star’s personal life.
Schwarzenegger divorced Maria Shriver after twenty-five years of marriage.
TMZ reported that the divorce occurred in LA. Superior Court on Tuesday, December 28.
Now, the divorce was actually already dealt with by a private judge earlier in the month, but a sitting judge needed to enter it into the court system for it to be official…
In regards to the property settlement, TMZ has estimated that $400 million will be split down the middle due to no existing prenup.
Schwarzenegger and Shriver have a total of 4 children together.
Katherine Schwarzenegger, who is engaged to Chris Pratt, Christina Schwarzenegger, thirty, Patrick Schwarzenegger, twenty-eight, and Christopher Schwarzenegger, twenty-four.
He also has another child, Joseph Baena, twenty-four, whose parent is sixty-year-old Mildred Patricia Baena, a housekeeper working for the family for twenty years, leaving the job after the affair.
And that’s when the marriage started to see cracks.
Schwarzenegger and Shriver have been separated for some time now, but are amicable with one another, and have moved on with other people.
Schwarzenegger is now dating Heather Milligan, and Shriver has been dating Matthew Dowd, as per Otakukart.
Despite this, Schwarzenegger has made sure to keep the family close, and even with their large wealth, he’s making sure to keep his kids humble.
And his son, Joseph Baena, has opened up about how his dad refused to support him after college.
“I’m really grateful that my dad helped me get through college,” Baena told Essentially Sports.
“But right when college was done, it was just like, ‘You go. You’re on your own.’ I was like, ‘Oh, s***’.”
Baena is an aspiring bodybuilder and actor, but the roles haven’t exactly been flowing in for him, which has forced him to get a different kind of job.
“So yeah, I needed a job, and I was not getting any of the acting roles that I thought I was going to get, and like starting to get paid,” the 24-year-old said.
“I was like, ‘I need to do something,’ so I started interning at this real estate company.”
He added: “I went in there. I was like, ‘I want to just learn as much as possible while making some kind of income.’
“And then I enjoyed it and was like, ‘Oh, I think I can do this pretty well,’ so, I got my license.”
What do you make of Schwarzenegger’s decision not to fund his son?
