Keep reading to how you can see this rare sighting of Jupiter and Saturn for yourself. You’re not going to want to miss this one!

Then you’ll have to look up!

And no, we don’t mean a visit from Santa Claus.

We mean, you’ll have to look up as there something pretty exciting happening in the sky.

Something so rare in fact, that it hasn’t been seen in a long time.

Astronomers have said the planets will line up in a way not seen since the Middle Ages.

When the sun sets on December 21st, those looking up to the sky will see Jupiter and Saturn very close.

Closer than anyone alive has ever seen them before.

“Alignments between these two planets are rather rare, occurring once every 20 years or so, but this conjunction is exceptionally rare because of how close the planets will appear to one another.” The Independent reported that he continued, “You’d have to go all the way back to just before dawn on March 4, 1226, to see a closer alignment between these objects visible in the night sky.”

And they will reach their optimum between December 16th and Christmas Day.

Professor Hartigan added, “On the evening of closest approach on Dec 21 they will look like a double planet, separated by only 1/5th the diameter of the full moon.”

We will be looking out for it!

Well, yes, providing the weather doesn’t restrict it.

At this point they will appear low in the western sky.

And people have been getting super excited about it online.

You won’t want to miss it as the next one isn’t for a long time.

And the one after that is 2400.
