Baby Archie celebrated his first birthday in style this week, and although he might have received well-wishes from his family, the public doesn't seem too eager to jump on board. In fact, some Twitter users expressed their disdain for the "ex-Duchess" by shaming Meghan for her latest video with baby Archie, and the comments are sickening.
But author Emily Giffin decided she was going to take things to a whole other level and completely destroy Markle online in a very disturbing rant.
Keep scrolling to see what she had to say...
Meghan and Harry have had a very tough year.
via: Getty ImagesIt all started with the denouncing of their involvement with the royal family and everything else followed suit.
But they're still one of the most famous couples in the world.
via: ShutterstockHeadlines were made all over the world when the British Royal Family's Prince Harry announced his romance with the Suits actress, Meghan Markle.
It all started with a blind date...
via: Getty ImagesThe couple met back in 2016 when they were set up by a mutual friend who thought the two would hit it off.
And their friend's hunch was apparently right...
via: ShutterstockBecause the pair hit it off, and they immediately arranged to see each other again, eventually going on to have 2 more dates in London.
And, in 2017, after a couple of months of privacy...
via: ShutterstockThe pair officially went public with their relationship.
Meghan was instantly catapulted into the royal spotlight.
via: ShutterstockThough she was already pretty well known for her role as Rachel Zane in Suits, the California-born actress was thrown into levels of fame that she had never experienced before.
The world quickly became Meghan and Harry obsessed.
via: ShutterstockAnd people were delighted to hear the news of their engagement later that year.
And, not ones to waste any time...
via: Getty ImagesThe couple officially tied the knot in May 2018.
The ceremony was simply stunning.
via: ShutterstockThe royals aren't ones to hold back, are they? Harry and Meghan wed in a lavish ceremony at Windsor Castle, which became one of the most-watched televised events of all time.
And, not long after the wedding, the newly appointed Duke and Duchess of Sussex had some more exciting news...
via: ShutterstockThey were expecting! On October 15th, 2018, the couple announced their pregnancy.
And, on May 6th, 2019...

They make for the cutest little family. But things haven't been as rosy and smooth-sailing as they have been appearing. And it gets worse since the virus outbreak started taking over the world...
Meghan hasn't had the easiest time...
via: ShutterstockJoining the British royal family was never going to be an easy transition, given that a person has to give up their entire life in order to be a part of the monarchy. But Meghan's experience has been especially difficult.
Many dedicated royalists weren't happy to see an American woman of colour in the monarchy...
via: ShutterstockAnd many attacked the Duchess, slamming her as "fake," with some going as far as accusing her of breaking up the royal family entirely.
She has also been relentlessly attacked by the press...

But, this year, the couple have seemingly had enough of the harassment and the criticism...Because they announced that they will be officially stepping down as senior members of the royal family and even then, people like Emily Giffin still have a problem with her.
They made the announcement on their joint Instagram page, Sussex Royal.
The couple plan on providing a more "normal" upbringing for Archie...
via: InstagramAnd announced that they will be splitting their time between the U.K and North America. “This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity," they wrote.
What many people have failed to take into consideration...
via: Getty ImagesIs how hard this whole experience must have been for Meghan - a new mother.
Despite receiving hate from some social media users, the majority just want what's best for the couple.
But that didn't stop the tributes from pouring in...
But despite the well-wishes, not everyone was impressed by Meghan's latest video celebrating Archie's first birthday.
@CBSNews She's actually reading to the camera. This 'princess' is not going to have a fairytale ending. Sad.— Czarcastic1 (@Czarcastic1)1588799442.0
It wasn't just to celebrate Archie's birthday, Meghan was also reading as part of a charity campaign...To show support for the save the children's #SaveWithStories campaign to bring food and learning resources to children impacted by the pandemic.
But it seems as though that little fact slipped people's minds.

Author Emily Giffin decided to take the criticism to a whole other level.
Her words were beyond harsh...
via: InstagramIt started off with an Instagram story that said "Happy Birthday Archie. Go away, Megan."
She then went onto post this screenshot of a comment she left:
via: Instagram“Holy ‘me first.’ This is the Megan show. Why didn’t she film and let Harry read? And why didn’t she take the moment at the end to say ‘he said daddy!’ Because that would make it about Harry for a split second, God forbid," she wrote.
She also added this:
She, herself, then pulled out a few more receipts...
via: InstagramIn this text conversation, she described Meghan as so "unmaternal." Is she for real?
And check out the way she talks about the other royals compared:
via: InstagramA "class act" are they?
And if things couldn't get worse...

She continued:"Over recent months my feelings about BOTH Harry and Meghan changed. But I can say from the bottom of my heart that my criticism of Meghan has never had anything to do with race. Further, I understood why she wanted to leave the monarchy and carve out her own path. I do, however, find fault with the way BOTH she and Harry handled things, and those feelings bled over in later posts, including the ones today."
And this is how it all ended:

The outrage was so bad, she was forced to make her Instagram private...
via: InstagramWell, that's what happens when you're a terrible human being. You get met with backlash. We have the receipts, so there's no point trying to backtrack now.
