A baby has gone viral after she thinking that her name is Alexa after her parents speak to their Amazon Echo Dot too much...

Who doesn't have an Amazon Echo Dot?

And who hasn't heard of Alexa?

Well, if you haven't...

It all started back in October 2016 when the first-ever Echo Dot was released by retail giant Amazon.

The Amazon Echo Dot is basically a smaller version of the original Amazon Echo smart speaker...

Looking more like a hockey puck than the Echo's original cylindrical shape, the Dot measures a little over 3 inches in diameter and is nearly 1.5 inches high.

The Echo Dot can pretty much do anything for you...

Whether that's playing your favorite tunes, reading the daily headlines, or reminding you about that super important meeting... the Echo Dot is there for you!

But the thing that this little piece of technology is best known for?

Alexa, of course.

Alexa is the voice-controlled smart speaker installed in each Echo Dot...

And she can perform a broad range of activities. Alexa can play music, set alarms, control other "smart" devices in the home, play games, and answer questions by searching for information on the internet... just to name a few of its many skills.

So many people around the world now enjoy Alexa's presence in their own homes...

And it's safe to say that the virtual assistance has become somewhat of a global celebrity.

Alexa is capable of many things...

Including being able to fart on demand and upsell an Amazon "fart expansion package." Wow.

There's no denying that Alexa has become a vital part of many households...

But one mom has recently found that the smart speaker has maybe made itself a little bit too comfortable in her home.

Charlotte Moultrie, who is twenty-eight-years-old, is the proud mom to Emily.

Emily is only eleven-months-old and she lives with her mom and dad in the Isle of Man, which is a part of the United Kingdom.

So the little device has well and truly settled into the home environment.

Charlotte and her partner, Andy, became very dependent upon Alexa...

And they found themselves calling out her name several times a day.

So much so...

That little Emily started to respond to the name "Alexa" herself.

Yep, you heard that correct.

Emily was hearing the name "Alexa" that much, she started to believe that it was her very own name.

Charlotte posted a video on TikTok to demonstrate this confusion...

In an interview with Story Tender, the mom said: "Every time you shout her name, she ignores you and then I say Alexa and she looks at me. I was so worried she thought her name was Alexa when it first happened!"

Emily literally won't respond to her parents unless they call her Alexa...

"She does it all the time now; if she's playing in her room or crawling away we can’t get her attention unless we shout Alexa," she continued. "I've had to turn my notifications off because it’s constantly going."

Charlotte's video has now received over a million views...

And it's safe to say that there is certainly a divided opinion on the little girl's Alexa-induced behavior.

Many feel disgusted that the little girl has gotten her name mixed up with a smart speaker...

And they've also slammed the parents for "speaking to Alexa more than their daughter." Ouch.

But many simply saw the funny side to the video...

And the cute side, of course!
