And they are all marching for one thing: For the blatant racism and injustice in this country to be brought to an end.

Many protests turned violent...

But change needs to happen and, at the moment, this seems like the only way to make it happen.

Remarkably, however, they seem to be working.

Thanks to these riots, the Black Lives Matter movement is dominating global headlines, and it has completely taken over social media.

It has also taken over our streets...

For instance, a group of people painted large yellow letters saying "Black Lives Matter" down two blocks of 16th Street in D.C - a two-lane road that coincidentally leads to the White House.

Protests have been happening across the pond too...

Amongst the stories of positivity from the protests, there have been some tales with a slightly more sour undertone.

Blatant racism is still happening across our country...

And countless stories of black people being targeted are continuing to emerge.

And the most recent story has come in from Baltimore.

A restaurant has been forced to issue an apology after its staff were filmed discriminating against a black family who had wished to dine in.

Footage from the Atlantis Restaurant in Ouzo Bay has been circulating on Twitter this week.

Marcia Grant, an African-American woman, filmed her interaction at the restaurant when her and her son were refused a table.

Staff at the restaurant were heard referring to the "dress code" as a reason for her refusal...

And they stressed that her son's attire was "violating" this particular code.

Just for reference, this is what her son was wearing.

Nothing too outrageous, right?

But then, things get even worse.

As the manager is trying to justify his decision, Marcia points out how another child in the restaurant, who just so happens to be white, is wearing pretty much the same outfit as her son.

"But that white kid out there can?"

Marcia points out the family in the outdoor seating area, who appears to be leaving, and the staff member responds by claiming that the children's shoes are different.

It really is the most awful example of racism...

And, since been posted onto Twitter, people are completely outraged at the restaurant.

They are shocked by the blatant racism expressed by the staff member...

And others have been calling for him to be fired altogether.

Here's the full video of the shocking incident...

And now, the restaurant has responded.

In a statement posted to Twitter, they wrote:

"This difficult situation does not represent who or what Atlas Restaurant Group stands for. While dress codes across Atlas properties are the result of ongoing input from customers, in no way are they intended to be discriminatory." Then, they revealed that they had changed their dress code so that children of twelve years and younger will not have to abide by it.

They then announced that the staff member had been placed on "administrative leave."

"We are sickened by this incident. We sincerely apologize to Marcia Grant, her son, and everyone impacted by this painful incident." Let's hope that the restaurant will move on and learn from this horrifying display of racism.
