It has been announced today that the iconic MTV cartoon, Beavis and Butt-Head, will officially be getting a reboot.

Keep scrolling for the full story, and to find out when you can expect to see the legendary duo back on your screens…

The boys are coming back! Created by Mike Judge, the lazy couch potatoes, Beavis and Butt-Head, made their debut on our television sets on March 8th, 1993.

And, in its time, it received widespread critical acclaim, particularly for its satirical, scathing commentary on society.

After seeing the short and being impressed, MTV signed Judge to develop it into a full series.

The cartoon centered around two main protagonists… You guessed it, Beavis and Butt-Head.

And they were both notably unintelligent and socially backward.

And they would deem their encounters as “cool” only if they are associated with heavy metal, violence, sex, or destruction.

Though their antics would usually result in serious consequences, sometimes for themselves but mostly for others, in which they would never express any remorse.

But that’s why the show was such a tremendous success.

Yet, despite their selfish natures and foul mouths, the world quickly fell in love with Beavis and Butt-Head.

Several episodes were criticized for making light of violence and arson and it was often deemed as “inappropriate” for younger audiences.

And pretty much anything was deemed as acceptable back then.

Would Beavis and Butt-Head be just as loved and accepted in 2020 as they were in the 1990s?

But hey, we’re about to find out for ourselves.

It has been reported that the original series creator, Mike Judge, will be teaming up with Comedy Central to re-launch the franchise with 2 new seasons and new spinoffs and specials.

As he did in the original series, Judge will be writing, producing, and voicing the show’s reboot.

This, I can’t wait to see.

But to also give those who never got a chance to experience it an opportunity to enjoy the cartoon.

But many are assuming it will be in 2021 at some point. Chris McCarthy, who oversees ViacomCBS’ entertainment and youth group as president, said on the project: “We are thrilled to be working with Mike Judge and the great team at 3 Arts again as we double down on adult animation at Comedy Central.”

“Beavis and Butt-Head were a defining voice of a generation, and we can’t wait to watch as they navigate the treacherous waters of a world light-years from their own.”

“It seemed like the time was right to get stupid again.” And we can’t wait!
