Nowadays, there are so many different ways that social media stars and celebrities can make their money.
From fashion and skincare brands to donations from fans, it’s all about getting creative with your audience.
Youtubers are known for being creative, selling merch and different items to their viewers so form a more intimate relationship.
But, no relationship is as intimate as Bell Delphine has with her fans, especially considering the items she’s sold them over the years.
Who is Bell Delphine?
Mary-Belle Kirschner, better known as Belle Delphine, is a South African-born British media personality.
Her online persona began in 2018 through her Instagram, where she would post pictures of her cosplay modeling.
Her social media accounts feature cosplay and erotic modeling, sometimes combining the two together.
From the fall of 2018 to the summer of 2019, her Instagram followers reportedly jumped from 850,000 to over four million, popularizing the “e-girl” aesthetic.
In 2019, Delphine gained wider notoriety after creating a satirical Pornhub account and selling “GamerGirl Bath Water” through her online store.
She made her Pornhub account after followers of hers hit a goal on Instagram, but posted clickbait and misleading titles on the site, which angered many of her fans.
Shortly after, her Instagram account was deleted due to community guideline violations, causing her to go on hiatus.
She had a whopping four and a half million followers on her account before it was banned.
GamerGirl Bath Water
When the social media star launched her GamerGirl Bath Water for $30 a pop, it sold out within three days.
“Bath water for all you thirsty gamer boys,” she captioned the product.
At the time, headlines about Delphine’s business venture were absolutely everywhere–and now, she’s revealing just how much money she made out of the whole ordeal.
The numbers…
Delphine was recently a guest on The Louis Theroux Podcast, where she revealed all of her earnings through selling the bath water.
Belle says that she managed to sell 600 units in total, which made her $18,000 in bathwater sales.
“The internet’s a strange place,” she admitted on the podcast.
“But it was definitely a moment where, for whatever reason, it became quite a big news story,” Delphine continued.
“I think it’s quite interesting because it’s the whole conversation about a girl capitalizing on something very strange.”
The 24-year-old went on to say that she found the reaction from the public to be quite interesting.
“I think a lot of people found it funny because there’s so many questions that come from it,” she explained.
“It’s like, oh, is the bathwater real? Why did she think of this?” she continued.
“Who’s buying it and what are they doing with it?”
Delphine also went on to reveal where she actually got the inspiration for the idea from.
“Obviously the sexual aspects of it also is very clickable, but where I got inspiration from it was I knew that Japan has panty vending machines,” Belle admitted.
Though her Instagram account was previously banned, she made a new one in 2020, which now has over three million followers.
