Canada’s most loved comedian Nick Nemeroff has sadly died at the age of thirty-two.
His family confirmed his “sudden” death on Monday.
A post written by Nemeroff’s brothers on his Instagram page announced his passing: “It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved brother Nick Nemeroff.”
“Nick’s dedication to standup comedy was formidable and produced amazing results. He drew acclaim in Canada and the US, becoming both a ‘comic’s comic’ and a hit with crowds who were enamored by his unique cadence,” said the statement.
Amid the sad news, the beloved comedian was nominated for a Juno Award for Comedy Album of the Year for his 2020 album: The Pursuit of Comedy Has Ruined My Life.
Throughout his career, Nemeroff had appeared on Conan O’Brien’s talk show Conan.
And while he was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec – the star comedian made several appearances on Montreal’s well-known comedy festival, Just for Laughs…
He also starred in two episodes of the second series of comedy TV show Roast Battle Canada, which saw pairs of comedians roast each other on stage.
The show included a judging panel made up of Russell Peters, Sabrina Jalees, and K. Trevor Wilson, who then decide the winner of each battle.
Since the news broke out, tributes have been pouring in for the beloved comedian on Twitter…
As one fan wrote: “Nick Nemeroff was so goddamn funny and I have never heard a single bad word about him from an industry.”
While another shared: “RIP Nick Nemeroff, you will be missed bud!”
The comedian’s cause of death remains unknown.
Rest in peace, Nick Nemeroff.
