However, it came to light once again after the latest episode of Better Call Saul, ‘Fun and Games’ aired. Gus could be seen enjoying a glass of wine at a bar, while seemingly hitting it off with a waiter named David.

In a recent appearance on The Ringer podcast, The Watch, producer Peter Gould discusses Gus’ sexuality in Breaking Bad, recalling the dramatic moment he found out Max — Gus’ business partner — was killed.

Max is even referred to as Gus’ “boyfriend” at one point in the show by Lalo, and Gould added: “Gus is holding onto his rage, his desire for revenge, and maybe he’s holding onto this romance that he had, with his boyfriend Max.

“We know that Gus had some kind of… we’ve never been very specific, he had some kind of violent past before that, but [Max’s death] seems to be the turning point for Gus Fring.

“He’s made a choice that he’s gonna hollow himself out and he can’t really be himself with another person.”

Despite some Breaking Bad fans being taken back by the news, others weren’t at all shocked, especially after watching his latest scenes in Better Call Saul.

Fans of the show have even taken to social media to share their thoughts on the revelation, one fan wrote: “Are people seriously surprised that Gus Fring is gay? I think Breaking Bad made it pretty obvious.”

Another commented: “The fact that some people who watched all of Breaking Bad, and all of Better Call Saul, have now, four episodes away from the ending of the entire saga, have only now, realized that Gus is gay, is absolutely hilarious.”
