Joe Biden has barred Donald Trump from intelligence briefings.
That's the latest news. But first up, let's go back to where it started.
Biden has endured a long and tedious battle for his place in the White House...
And, 2 decades after his initial presidential bid...
Last year marked his third run for president...
It was one hell of a run-up to the election.
And the votes didn't lie!
This was a historic win...
Of course, President Donald Trump didn't take to this news well, at all...won't be attending Biden's inauguration - something that didn't come as a surprise to many.
Biden, on the other hand, accepted his win graciously...
And then, Joe Biden has announced his inauguration theme...
The theme of @JoeBiden's inauguration (Jan. 20) will be #AmericaUnited 🇺🇸— Joel Franco (@OfficialJoelF) January 11, 2021
"At a time of unprecedented crisis & deep divisions, America United reflects the start of a new journey to restore the soul of America..." - @BidenInaugural pic.twitter.com/E0UorX6ZKn
"At a time of unprecedented crisis and deep divisions, America United reflects the beginning of a new national journey that restores the soul of America, brings the country together, and creates a path to a brighter future," a statement from the transition team read.
In addition to the theme, 2 Inauguration Day events were also announced...

Biden & @DrBiden will also lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Solider on Inauguration day, joined by fmr presidents pic.twitter.com/BHMZz9GyCe
In his first act as president, Biden will lay a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery.
He will be joined by first lady Jill Biden, Kamala Harris, and her husband, Doug Emhoff...
As well as Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton.
Former first ladies Michelle Obama and Laura Bush...
As well as Hillary Clinton, also participated.
The inaugural committee also plans to install an art display on the National Mall.
The "Field of Flags" will include 191,500 American flags, representing the Americans who couldn't be at the celebration.
"This inauguration marks a new chapter for the American people — one of healing, of unifying, of coming together, of an America united. It is time to turn the page on this era of division."
Can’t wait to proudly display our flag again beginning on Inauguration Day.— Linda Robinson (@LindaRo82242152) December 5, 2020
"The inaugural activities will reflect our shared values and serve as a reminder that we are stronger together than we are apart, just as our motto 'e pluribus unum' reminds us — out of many, one," Biden inauguration CEO Tony Allen said.
The ceremony was pretty scaled down.
The bravest thing @JoeBiden, @KamalaHarris and @SpeakerPelosi can do is stay safe for democracy. The only inaugural "norm" that counts is ensuring the transfer of power to the Biden Admin and protecting a pro-democracy line of succession. Because of the continuing coronavirus pandemic and because of the riots.
NYPD sources said...
Police say there will be no public access to the grounds of the U.S. Capitol for the inauguration after last week's riot. Pittman says officials have “comprehensive, coordinated plans” in place to ensure the safety and security of both Congress & Biden’s inauguration on Jan. 20.— Mike Balsamo (@MikeBalsamo1) January 12, 2021
They are dispatching at least 200 officers to Washington, DC to help with the inauguration.
As well as this, the district sought the assistance of three-thousand officers...

But the latest Biden news?
"I just think that there is no need for him to have the intelligence briefings... What impact does he have at all, other than the fact he might slip and say something?" https://t.co/XBLo30dD8o— BBC News (World) (@BBCWorld) February 6, 2021
Is that he's barred Donald Trump from future intelligence briefings.
Briefings are usually given to former presidents.
To keep them clued up on intelligence and occasionally to listen to their advice.
But Biden claims Trump is too erratic.

Or more specifically, he said:
I just think that there is no need for him to have the intelligence briefings.
What value is giving him an intelligence briefing? What impact does he have at all, other than the fact he might slip and say something?
Watching the news and seeing that Biden is going to cut off Trump from his intelligence briefings. Separating Donald Trump from classified information makes my vote worth it right there.— Tom Nichols (@RadioFreeTom) February 5, 2021
What do you think about Biden's decision?
