Almost a year into his new role and President Biden has thrown himself into it with some gusto.

In just months after his move to the White House, the president has been keeping himself very busy by dismantling a whole array of controversial Trump-era regulations.

For example…

Mere hours after his inauguration ceremony, Biden fulfilled one of his top campaign promises by pledging to put the U.S. back in the Paris Agreement on climate change – an international pact aimed at curbing emissions that cause global warming.

Trump famously withdrew from the agreement in 2017, citing costs to American taxpayers.

And as for the country’s ongoing racial division?

Well, Biden got straight to work on putting the pieces back together.

He first signed an executive order to promote racial equity.

Biden ordered his government to conduct equity assessments of its agencies and reallocate resources to “advance equity for all, including people of color and others who have been historically underserved, marginalized and adversely affected by persistent poverty and inequality.”

He then reversed Trump’s infamous ban on U.S. entry from majority-Muslim countries.

Biden’s proclamation reversed Trump’s policy that barred entry to the U.S. for refugees and residents from 7 predominantly Muslim countries and orders plans within forty-five days for resuming visa processing.

But, despite all his hard work…

Biden – just like many past presidents – has made a few mistakes along the way.

He laid into Vladimir Putin, escalating the already tense relationship between the countries.

Biden was asked if he believed the Russian president was a killer, to which he responded “I do.”

Following the comment, Russia recalled its ambassador from the U.S. …

And demanded an apology. Big yikes.

Oh, and we can’t forget about Biden’s many little slip-ups!

On several occasions, the president has been filmed falling up the stairs as he boarded Air Force One which resulted in him being a laughing stock online.
Which isn’t something the President of the United States wants to be.

Over the months, President Biden has received his fair share of criticism…

And he got a whole lot more when he made a recent announcement.

Biden revealed which occupations will fall under the vaccine mandate…

And it’s safe to say, it’s received a mixed response.

The Biden administration has announced new federal vaccine rules that will effect millions of US workers.

And it took effect on January 4, the rules apply to private businesses with 100 or more employees, certain health care workers, and federal contractors, CNN reports.

Like health care workers, federal contractors and federal workers were required to be fully vaccinated with either 2 doses of Pfizer or Moderna’s vaccine or one dose of Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine, by January 4th, ABC News reports.

Employees in other companies could however be given the option to take a COVID test weekly and wear a mask in the workplace, the outlet adds.

The Daily Mail also added that businesses not complying with the rules could be fined $14,000 per unvaccinated worker.

They could also be fined up to $136,532 for repeat offenders.

While discussing the new rules, a senior administration official said: “Together the OSHA and CMS rules, along with the other policies the administration has previously implemented means that over two thirds of all workers in the United States are now covered by vaccination policies.”

“Higher vaccination rates protect our workers, reduce hospitalizations and deaths. It’s good for workers and importantly, this is good for the economy.”

Another senior official also said:

“A virus that has killed more than 745,000 Americans, with more than 70,000 new cases per day currently, is clearly a health hazard that poses a grave danger to workers. The new emergency temporary standard is well within OSHA’s authority under the law and consistent with OSHA’s requirements to protect workers from health and safety hazards, including infectious diseases.”

And now, President Joe Biden has stepped up to help Americans throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

As it is with most countries right now, America is struggling to contain the spreading of the Omicron variant, which was first discovered in South Africa. Biden has decided to take further steps to help protect American’s.

And this comes as he understands some people struggle to wear the already free facemasks, or buy other masks in store.

“I know we all wish we could finally be done with wearing masks, I get it, but they are a really important tool to stop the spread, especially of the highly transmissible Omicron variant,” Biden said, as per CNN.

Although most advise given out so far by American politicians or experts alike is that wearing any mask is better than deciding not to wear a mask at all…

Other American experts have said masks of better material would be better.

A new study actually found that the best facemask material to use if you are making your mask from scratch is that of a tightly woven material.

The study also found that bandanas are not the most effective material to be using in order to protect yourself and others from contracting the coronavirus.

But, as Biden announced his plan to role out the free facemasks…

People were quick to comment.

He told the nation that he will reveal more about the rolling out of masks next week before emphasising that people without the vaccine are at more risk of contracting the new variant than those who have the vaccine.

“I know we’re all frustrated as we enter this new year — the Omicron variant is causing millions of cases and record hospitalizations,” he said.

“Right now, both vaccinated and unvaccinated people are testing positive, but what happens after that could not be more different,” he finished.

But that’s not all the administration are planning to do.

They are ready to purchase another 500 million coronavirus tests, as well.
Whatever people think about Biden’s administrative plans, it’s clear that he’s determined to get something done.

Especially because according to data from the Department of Health and Human Services, 151,000 Americans were hospitalized because of the coronavirus on Wednesday, reported by CNN.
