An up-to-date mugshot of the notorious Bill Cosby has been released to the public and people have been left feeling rather unnerved seeing him crack a small smile...

Where do we begin on the whole Bill Cosby saga?

Well, Cosby was originally known as America's dad with him being one of our country's most lovable comedians.

His stand-up comedy career began in 1961...

He started by doing small stand-up gigs in his hometown of Philadelphia, and then in New York City, where he appeared at The Gaslight Cafe.

In the summer of 1963, he received national exposure on NBC's The Tonight Show...

Which lead to Cosby signing a recording contract with Warner Bros. Records, who, in 1964, released his debut LP, Bill Cosby Is a Very Funny Fellow...Right!, the first of a series of comedy albums.

In 1983, Cosby released the concert film, Bill Cosby: Himself which is still widely regarded as "the greatest comedy concert film ever."

But comedy wasn't the only thing Cosby dabbled in - his acting career kicked off in the 60s' and he went on to star in movies such as I Spy (1965), The Bill Cosby Show (1969), Fat Albert (1972), Let's Do It Again (1975), and The Cosby Mysteries (1994).

Cosby went on to live his life as a respected comedian and actor...

But this all came crashing down in 2005 when he was first accused of sexual assault by Andrea Constand, director of operations for Temple University’s women’s basketball team.

Cosby was reportedly working as her mentor...

And Constand went on to accuse the comedian of giving her "herbal pills" before sexually assaulting her. But sadly, due to a "lack of evidence", Constand's case was dropped against Cosby.

But in 2014, more accusations came forward...

And this time, they were taken seriously.

In October 2014, a part of comedian Hannibal Buress's comedy routine that described sexual misbehavior by Cosby went viral...

And this resulted in countless women coming forward with rape and sexual assault allegations, many of which dated all the way back to the 1960s.

Cosby has repeatedly denied the allegations and maintained his innocence...

And in November 2014, he responded to a question about the allegations and said, "I don't talk about it."

In past interviews that were made public, Cosby declined to discuss the accusations...

But of course, in the wake of the allegations, numerous organizations soon severed ties with Cosby, and honors and titles that were previously awarded to him have been revoked.

Reruns of The Cosby Show and other shows featuring Cosby were also pulled from syndication by many organizations...

Meaning his career was in utter tatters.

And then, in April 2018...

Cosby was found guilty of 3 counts of aggravated indecent assault against a Toronto woman after a jury trial. And on September 25th, 2018, he was sentenced to 3-10 years in state prison and a $25,000 fine plus court costs of both trials.

The comic has been living in complete disgrace ever since...

But on June 23, 2020, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled Cosby would be able to appeal his sexual assault conviction based upon questions on testimony from a witness being more prejudicial than probative.

Cosby is obviously pretty happy about this turnaround...
