Bindi Irwin has been forced to disable comments on her Instagram account after she was attacked by trolls.
The soon-to-be mother really doesn't want to have to deal with the viciousness of the internet right now...
But why would anyone even dream of targeting the lovable Irwin family?
Well, here's the full story...
Now, Bindi Irwin has been in the public eye for most of her life...
And that's because she's the daughter of the one and only Steve Irwin.
Sadly, Steve passed away in 2006 from a stingray attack while filming in the Great Barrier Reef...
But, over a decade after her father's death, Bindi, alongside her mom, Terri, and brother, Robert, have all worked hard to keep Steve's legacy alive through their important work at his pride and joy, Australia Zoo.
And as you'd expect, this is where Bindi met her now-husband, Chandler Powell.
The pair met when Chandler, who's now twenty-four, was visiting the zoo while in Australia for a professional wakeboarding competition from the United States.
They have now been together for over 8 years...
And amazingly so, American-born Chandler exhibits the same passion for animals as the Irwin's and he now works with Bindi and her family at Australia Zoo.
And, on Bindi's twenty-first birthday...
She announced to her fans that they were engaged.
She shared this picture on her Instagram...
Alongside the caption: "On my birthday I said ‘yes’ and ‘forever’ to the love of my life. Chandler, close to 6 years ago I fell in love with you and every day since has been a whirlwind of adventure and true happiness. I’m so looking forward to spending our forever together as your wife. Here’s to a lifetime of friendship, purpose, and unconditional love. — Now let’s get married already!"
And last year, the happy day finally arrived.
On March 25th, 2020, Bindi and Chandler finally said their "I do's" and became husband and wife.
It was a small and private ceremony...
"We held a small ceremony and I married my best friend. There are no words to describe the amount of love and light in my heart right now. We've planned this beautiful day for nearly a year and had to change everything, as we didn't have guests at our wedding. This was a very difficult decision but important to keep everyone safe. We wish all of our friends and family could have been there with us, however, it's lovely that we will be able to share photos and videos," Bindi wrote on Instagram.
They got married in a secluded location where Steve used to regularly film, with Bindi telling PEOPLE:
"Where we got married was such a special place to dad. It's a beautiful little area where he had filmed for many years. It felt really wonderful and just meant to be. We had dad's picture with his dog Sui blown up on an easel, so mom and Robert were standing right next to dad as we exchanged vows. We had a candle-lighting ceremony for him, and it really felt like he was there with us. It was a lovely moment of peace and happiness."
And for another special touch, she even kept her surname as a legacy to her dad.
Speaking to ET, Bindi said: "I’ve kept Bindi Irwin. I think that for me personally, after dad [Steve Irwin] passed away it was really important for me to feel close to him, and having his last name means so much to me."
And just 5 months on from their wedding...
Bindi took to Instagram to share this adorable photo of her and Chandler holding up a miniature khaki shirt...
Alongside the caption: "Baby Wildlife Warrior due 2021. Chandler and I are proud to announce that we’re expecting! It’s an honor to share this special moment in our lives with you. Though I’m still in my first trimester, we really want you to be part of our journey from the beginning of this new life chapter."
"We couldn’t wait to share the news as this beautiful little being has become the most important part of our lives. Your support means the world to us. Please let me know your best advice and send good vibes & prayers to our little sweetheart. Love & light."
Her husband, Chandler, seconded her announcement.
We’re going to be parents!! We have a baby Wildlife Warrior on the way coming in 2021. Becoming a dad is the highli… https://t.co/XRr08azfz1— Chandler Powell (@Chandler Powell)1597140001.0
A few weeks later, Bindi shared the picture from her first sonogram.
"The animal joeys we care for are excited to meet our human joey. Baby Wildlife Warrior is about the size of a hummingbird now! We can’t wait to teach our little one about the importance of protecting our planet and the beauty of the wildlife and wild places we love so much. Thank you for your kindness and support on this magical journey."
And a few weeks after that, she then revealed that they were expecting a baby girl!
Posing with an up-to-date sonogram next to a huge tortoise munching on some pink flowers, Bindi wrote: "Baby girl, you are our world. Our beautiful daughter is now about the same size as a hatchling Aldabra tortoise and is as healthy as can be. We can’t wait for her arrival next year."
Bindi also posted a video on Instagram from a recent ultrasound appointment...
The short video, filmed by her husband, shows Bindi waving to the camera before she says, "This is so exciting, look at our daughter! She's so beautiful. Oh my goodness."
The camera then pans to show the ultrasound image with Chandler saying, "Wow! You can see her heartbeat there."
Posting the video online, Bindi wrote: "Our beautiful daughter is the light of our lives. Beyond thankful that she chose us to be her parents. I can’t wait for her to be here next year."
And as for the bump?
Well, Bindi at first remained fairly private when it came to revealing her growing bump and she would only tease pictures that would show a slight silhouette.
But recently, Bindi decided to show off her rapidly growing body with the recreation of a photo that Terri and Steve took when they were expecting Robert.
She wrote: "Recreating a very special moment. Third-trimester love." Despite their happiness, the pain of losing Steve is clearly very raw.
However, despite the sheer wholesomeness of Bindi's pregnancy journey...
There have, of course, been the small minority to use her good news to viciously troll and attack her.
From her various maternity photoshoots to her family "babymoon" in Uluru...
The internet trolls have never been far away.
Bindi officially turned off all comments shortly after the babymoon backlash...
And, yesterday, sent a cryptic message to her haters in a Valentine's Day post.
Her and Chandler posed against wallart that read: "Let's give them something to taco 'bout."
Now that's how you deal with internet trolls!
