Bindi Irwin Shows off Growing Baby Bump for the First Time | 22 Words

She looks positively glowing...

Unless you've been living under a rock for the last few months...

You'll know all about Bindi Irwin's joyous news that she's expecting her first child with husband Chandler Powell!

Ever since their announcement last month, fans of the young crocodile hunter have been besides themselves with excitement.

Another Irwin in the world? This is exactly what 2020 needs.

However, news and updates regarding her pregnancy have been scarce.

Though Bindi is very active on social media, she and the rest of her family have always maintained a high level of privacy when it comes to more personal affairs.

But now, just weeks after revealing the gender of her child, Bindi has given us another small update...

And that's by unveiling her growing baby bump!

Now, Bindi has been in the public eye for quite some time...

As a little girl, she would regularly feature on Steve Irwin's highly popular documentaries.

Sadly, Steve passed away in 2006 from a stingray attack while filming in the Great Barrier Reef.

And, at the young age of just 8-years-old, Bindi read out a eulogy during her dad's memorial service.

Now, over a decade after her father's death, Bindi continues to follow in her father's footsteps, along with the rest of her family...

Terri, Bindi, and Robert have all worked hard to keep Steve's legacy alive through their important work at his pride and joy, Australia Zoo.

And as you'd expect, this is where Bindi met her now-husband, Chandler Powell.

The pair met when Chandler, who's now twenty-two, was visiting the zoo while in Australia for a professional wakeboarding competition from the United States.

They have now been together for almost 7 years.

American-born Chandler exhibits the same passion for animals as the Irwin's, working with Bindi and her family at Australia Zoo.

And on Bindi's twenty-first birthday...

She announced to her fans that they were engaged.

She shared this picture on her Instagram...

Alongside the caption: "On my birthday I said ‘yes’ and ‘forever’ to the love of my life. Chandler, close to 6 years ago I fell in love with you and every day since has been a whirlwind of adventure and true happiness. I’m so looking forward to spending our forever together as your wife. Here’s to a lifetime of friendship, purpose, and unconditional love. — Now let’s get married already!"

Here's what Chandler wrote on his Instagram...

"She said YES! Almost 6 years ago we met at Australia Zoo. I immediately fell head over heels for her kind and thoughtful heart that radiates so much light. Proposing in her very favorite place in the zoo, surrounded by animals, seemed like the perfect way to embark on this incredible new chapter in our lives. Bee, I love you more than anything in this world and I always will. Happy Birthday," he wrote.

Of course, Bindi's younger brother, Robert, was quick to offer his congratulations to the happy couple.

The sixteen-year-old showed a bit of brotherly love, writing that the couple are "true soulmates" and have "always been so completely perfect for each other."

And earlier this year, the happy day finally arrived.

On March 25th, 2020, Bindi and Chandler finally said their "I do's" and became husband and wife.

It was a small and private ceremony...

"We held a small ceremony and I married my best friend. There are no words to describe the amount of love and light in my heart right now. We’ve planned this beautiful day for nearly a year and had to change everything, as we didn’t have guests at our wedding. This was a very difficult decision but important to keep everyone safe. We wish all of our friends and family could have been there with us, however, it’s lovely that we will be able to share photos and videos," Bindi wrote on her Instagram.

They had no guests due to coronavirus restrictions...

"We wish all of our friends and family could have been there with us, however it’s lovely that we will be able to share photos and videos. Right now we’re encouraging the world to hold onto hope and love, which will carry us forward during this profound time in history. Today we celebrated life and reveled in every beautiful moment we shared together in our Australia Zoo gardens. Mum helped me get ready, Robert walked me down the aisle, Chandler became my husband and together we lit a candle in Dad’s memory," she explained.

They got married in a secluded location where Steve used to regularly film...

And Bindi recently spoke fondly of the day and how she honored her late dad.

They felt their wedding location was "meant to be"...

Speaking to PEOPLE, Bindi said: "Where we got married was such a special place to dad. It’s a beautiful little area where he had filmed for many years. It felt really wonderful and just meant to be."

Steve was with them throughout the entire ceremony...

"We had dad’s picture with his dog Sui blown up on an easel," she explained, "So mom and Robert were standing right next to dad as we exchanged vows. We had a candle-lighting ceremony for him, and it really felt like he was there with us. It was a lovely moment of peace and happiness."

And for an added touch...

Bindi's bouquet that she carried down the aisle was finished with a khaki bow, which was Steve's signature color. "Most brides have something blue; I had my khaki," she said.

She has even kept her surname as a legacy to her dad.

Speaking to ET, Bindi said: "I’ve kept Bindi Irwin. I think that for me personally, after dad [Steve Irwin] passed away it was really important for me to feel close to him, and having his last name means so much to me."

And then, just 5 months on from their wedding...

The couple came forward with yet another exciting announcement.

They're expecting!

Yep, Bindi took to Instagram last month to reveal that she is pregnant with her first child. This was just too perfect!

She shared this photo of her and Chandler holding up a miniature khaki shirt...

Alongside the caption: "Baby Wildlife Warrior due 2021. Chandler and I are proud to announce that we’re expecting! It’s an honor to share this special moment in our lives with you. Though I’m still in my first trimester, we really want you to be part of our journey from the beginning of this new life chapter."

She continued:

"We couldn’t wait to share the news as this beautiful little being has become the most important part of our lives. Your support means the world to us. Please let me know your best advice and send good vibes & prayers to our little sweetheart. Love & light."

Her husband, Chandler, seconded her announcement.

He wrote excitedly: "We’re going to be parents!! We have a baby Wildlife Warrior on the way coming in 2021. Becoming a dad is the highlight of my life. I cannot wait to embark on this new adventure and life chapter with my gorgeous wife, @BindiIrwin. Bee, you’re going to be the most amazing mother."

Bindi's mom, Terri, expressed her joy, also.

She also noted, "I wish that Steve was here to share this beautiful moment, I know that he would be so proud."

Bindi and Chandler have been selective about when they post their baby updates.

Bindi posted this photo on September 1st, writing: "Our baby Wildlife Warrior is going to be so very loved by our families and entire Australia Zoo team. I can’t wait to find out what this amazing new soul loves in life, and experience the world all over again through their eyes."

We were eagerly waiting to see anything regarding the pregnancy.

Does she have a bump yet? Have they had their first sonogram? How has her morning sickness been? No one knew!

Well, Bindi took to Instagram a few weeks ago to update fans on her pregnancy...

And, by the sounds of things, her "magical" pregnancy has been nothing short of a dream.

Sharing a photo of her and Chandler proudly holding a koala, a joey, and the photos from their sonogram, Bindi wrote:

"The animal joeys we care for are excited to meet our human joey. Baby Wildlife Warrior is about the size of a hummingbird now! We can’t wait to teach our little one about the importance of protecting our planet and the beauty of the wildlife and wild places we love so much. Thank you for your kindness and support on this magical journey."

But we all know what everyone has really been waiting for...

And that's the gender reveal.

Well, on September 22nd, we finally got what we'd all been waiting for...

Bindi and Chandler revealed the gender of their unborn child! In typical Irwin style, they didn't feel the need for an OTT gender reveal party and they simply took to Instagram to share the happy news... along with one of their favorite zoo animals, of course!

It's going to be a little girl!

Posing with an up-to-date sonogram next to a huge tortoise munching on some pink flowers, Bindi wrote: "Baby girl, you are our world. ❤️ Our beautiful daughter is now about the same size as a hatchling Aldabra tortoise and is as healthy as can be. We can’t wait for her arrival next year."

Comments of joy came flooding in for the young parents-to-be...

Including brother Robert, who expressed his excitement over meeting his niece.

Chandler clearly can't wait to be a dad...

And his love for Bindi and their daughter is truly beautiful.

Since the gender reveal, the couple has been keen to update us on how their little girl is doing...

And Bindi has often expressed her excitement for her "sweet girl" to meet all of the animals at the zoo. "Can’t wait for our sweet baby girl to meet our animal family. I think she’ll love how fluffy our koalas are. 💗🐨 We’ve entered the second trimester and now baby Wildlife Warrior is about the size of a hamster," she wrote on this adorable Insta post earlier this month.

But now...

Bindi has finally shown off her growing pregnant body.

She is positively glowing...

And even though her bump is small, the happiness she is radiating is undeniable.

Bindi wrote in her post:

"My beautiful mum took this photo yesterday. Baby girl is doing great. Every time we get an ultrasound she’s incredibly energetic and always moving around. She’s now about the same size as a mountain pygmy-possum. Too cute!"

Here's the gorgeous snap:

Congratulations, Bindi and Chandler! Make sure to stay posted for further updates.
